40 years ago the Durham FBI report alone would have been all the nation was talking about for years, like Watergate on steroids. Now the FBI corruption report is a one day story.

I don’t know why folks are blaming McCarthy. I don’t like him, but he was clearly representing the majority of the GOP caucus.

What we have here is a systemic governmental problem that is symptomatic in both parties. What this vote proves is that the GOP is not going to save America, we already know the Democrats won’t.

This is beyond individual personalities and parties.

What this tells us is that we have 3/4ths of the house that does not want (for a variety of reasons, ranging from IQ to political viability) America to veer away from our socialist path.

Most people on this board want socialism, and if you can get that out of a group of supposed stalwart conservatives, you have to realize we are socialists, and have been for quite some time.

Nothing will change until every American realizes that we really CAN’T print money and have everything we want in the form of programs, checks, subsidies, etc.

Stop worrying about national politics, start worrying about your home town, your neighbors and what it’s going to take to make it through the next 10 years or so (or perhaps longer?) because its going to be an interesting ride.

Good luck.

Nixon threatened to use the IRS against polical foes. He never did. But it was an outrage, the mere thought of a weaponized IRS.

Trump has a great track record.

Not on fiscal matters...debt ceiling (he raised it twice) or a balanced budget...not one balanced budget proposed in 4 tries. National debt up by $4 trillion during his term. Other areas he did great (judges, cutting red tape, etc.) but not fiscally.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I guess we WILL be fooled again@

But...it is the best they could probably get. Though, we won’t get what was agreed to.

Hell, the Dems even lied to Manchin.

I'm going Galt...let it crash. Pubbies are going to get blown out in 2024, it's what the voters want.

The faster we get to $40 trillion in debt, the better. At that point, annual interest will be $2 trillion, or twice the defense budget.

Everyone's ox will be gored, a real life Directive 10-289 will come from DC.

At least by getting it down to one party, we cut the number of enemies in half, and clarify the situation. Having the GOP gives them cover.

J agree.

It’s getting hard to care. I’m almost happy I’m not long for this world.

Selfishness will prevail destroying communities, our military and then the country.

Republicans and Conservatives don’t win this in one round. McCarthy got about half of what he/we wanted. It’s an incremental win. He set the appropriations rules that give leverage to appropriations through normal process. We turn the screws tighter between now and September. Keep squeezing! Republicans need to play the long game that Democrats keep using to beat us.

Well done, Kevin!

LOL, FRiend. There's not sufficient time left for the "long game."

Game's over, it's now a $hit show.
