On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) said that a debt ceiling deal that is only about cuts to domestic spending “will be difficult, because, for many of us, investing in education, workforce, health care is important.”
Host Martha MacCallum asked, “[I]sn’t it incumbent upon all of you to figure out a way to cut some spending? Clearly, there’s waste in government spending.”
Coons answered, “Martha, there [are] two parts of balancing any budget…there’s revenue and there’s spending. And our challenge here is that the House Republican majority is determined to make the Trump tax cuts permanent. That’s at a cost of $3.5 trillion in additional lost revenue over a decade. President Biden has continued to try and put on the table different proposals, ways that we could close tax loopholes or promote tax fairness or ensure that those who owe taxes are paying them –.”

Oh, I thought this was a black topic.
He sniffs Bidet’s butt
And yet, Fitch threatens a downgrade on US debt because Republicans are “playing politics” with the debt ceiling. This is like saying that an alcoholic’s real problem is that his family tries to stop him from getting more booze.
It will be difficult for Democrats because such a huge percentage of their voters are net benefit recipients. Any cut at all damages their voter turnout - and their fraud efforts will have to be made more obvious to compensate.
If the Democrats hang tough, the federal government may go back its 1923 levels of spending for health care, education and voter bribery.
There are a lot of high functioning alcoholics so long as you keep them in single malt or the best bourbon.
Isn’t this the guy who thought he was so clever eating a bucket of fried chicken on the house floor?
Let’s cut foreign spending first and see how it goes .
No, that guy was from KY i think
Coons needs a refresher at Alcoholics Anonymous.
The ‘rats say they need almost 3 trillion more per year than they did in 2019, and there’s no way to cut a dime.
Eff these people, they’re trying to kill us. Just do it.
No, that was another oddball.

Cut foreign aid first idiots. I so despise these people. Looking at them makes me queasy.
Yes, well, if Coons wants more spending, let him offer a proposal to pay for it.
