Good! For the moment I'm backing Ron DeSantis. Skip the polls to date. I bet he'll be matching or beating Trump within 30 days. Any takers?

Get ready for incoming fire. There is so much hatred of DeSantis on Free Republic. See if they come here and attach you for having the audacity to support DeSantis.

I have never in my lifetime seen a politician run against the base of the party, but here comes Meatball.

I suspect it will be much like when many of us bailed on Lyn’ Ted to back Trump. Eventually people will get over it and focus on winning in 2024.

Jeb 2.0. DeSantis is in bed with all the usual suspects from the Republican establishment.

Why would hate him? Because he’s backed by Karl Rove, Paul Ryan and Jeb Bush? Fancy that.

Well, there you go . DeSantis has backing from Karl Rove and Paul Ryan types, therefore, we are supposed to hate any such candidate. That’s the logic.

We’ll see what happens. I do like his policies and what he’s done in Florida, but I don’t know if he’s up to the job. Managing a country is harder than managing a state.

There sure has been a lot of fighting about this Trump vs. DeSantis situation.

Skip the polls to date. I bet he'll be matching or beating Trump within 30 days.
DeSantis has been running since before he won as governor of Florida the second time.
And, the polls for him were kind of decent a few months ago, but he's been losing by a lot recently.
Making it official isn't going to change things much, especially since everybody know he was running and started campaigning months ago.
So, in 20 days, things will not have improved for him; not by much, if at all.
I will, however, vote for DeSantis in 2028, but Trump has a job to finish and most conservatives feel the same.

The challenge for DeSantis is to oppose Trump while at the same time trying to be as much like Trump as possible.

Haha, it don’t matter!! We are going to vote for Trump no matter what you Democrat-Lites do!!! I wonder about Elin Musk!! This is the third stupid move he has made in a row. Paid way to much for Twitter, Hired a big time Leftist to run Twitter, Now he has enabled the 3rd place GOP Canidate. Trump will wipe the floor with DeSantis.

But then, some Freepers hate Nikki Haley.....

So if we don't automatically fall in line with your support of DeSantis we are "Haters"?
Please try again minus the hyperbole!
