He’s probably thinking like me, that we should adopt a federalist position up to this next election. Let the states haggle over it...

He's a presidential candidate criticizing a state for their law on abortion. That's the polar opposite of a federalist position. It might be a pragmatic position, but it's neither moral or federalist.

As a pragmatist, where is Trump going to draw the line? Apparently somewhere between 6 weeks and birth.

It’s now up to the states.

This is just for Florida.

Trump knows this.

He’s jerking DeSantis’ chain.

Lets just be honest about this.

If it wasn’t a “womans issue” (which it isn’t only) there would be zero problem banning it and being against it. Because its murder. But because women want it and complain and moan and lie that its “healthcare” (nope) and “their body” (again nope) and a “freedom issue” (nope, no one has freedom to murder), our gynosociety bends over backwards to give it to them.

Abortion is one reason God is judging the USA.

At conception life begins.

God breathes a soul into a baby at conception.

At a prayer breakfast when Clinton was Pres Mother Teresa said any country that allows abortion will allow all kinds of violence.

And look around.

She was right.

Well Trump used the Pro Life movement for his election as President now he is tossing them under the bus..if to they were smart they would withhold that support...let him flounder..With Trump embracing the queer/trans whatever crowd I say he doesn’t deserve another shot..God Trump and now God is done with Trump.

Trump is criticizing desantis for the state doing exactly that. He is not prolofe anymore than he is pro 2A. He will give lip service to those positions until he thinks it is not popular to do so, then will back out and soften his stance to something he thinks will play better.

and he is criticizing a governor and state that settled the issue on a state level. Desantis signed a state ban not a federal one

Not bowing down to ‘Moloch’ in order to win temporal elections. Country is already screwed to pieces if you need to appease people who want the unconditional “right” to murder human beings in the womb, so populist on that issue can piss off.

That whole issue has a severe top-down affect in terms of economics because it allows for abusive behavior when it comes to managing society. Can't see the forest for the trees.

How many pro abortion women will switch their vote from being den to trump. We have the data.. whit suburban women vote dem.
Do you think returning this to the states will change their vote?
What he does d was to stay left of social issu s, like homosexuality and abortion. He clearly supports groomer Disney as well.
If he runs against RFK jr, two pro abortion candidates, then that would be interesting indeed.
Blaming ng wbortion for his election loss after he locked down the country and paid Pfizer n Moderna billions is a bit of a stretch.
He gave us faucism control up to mail in ballots.

I think that Trump has correctly surmised that The GOP plans to use abortion as a wedge issue against him with republican voters and voters in the general election. Expect the calls for abortion bans and cuts to Social Security and Medicare to grow louder if he wins the republican nomination.

I am anti abortion on principle but I accept that there are logical conundrums in enforcing it.

When it’s absolutely impossible to keep both mother and fetus alive, you either kill two by deliberately taking no action, or you accept that one will have to die in order to save the other.

The Hippocratic oath requires the doctors to save a life if they can. Absolutism is antithetical to that oath.

You can only justify an absolute position against abortion if

1. there are literally no circumstances ever where an unborn child can survive to term or to a surgical intervention without killing their mother.

2. The born infant can survive. If a fetus has absolutely no chance of surviving even with all our technology to assist, God has already decreed that it will not survive. Some would say God is testing us to either accept His will and focus on saving the mother, or defy His will and risk killing the mother in the process.

3. As long as care of the mother is an afterthought and care of the child after birth is left up to Social Darwinism, backstreet abortion will remain unresolved. You want to end that trade? Solve the things that lead to impossible life choices of the mothers and babies that can easily be predicted to happen AFTER the birth.

Poverty. Abuse. Homelessness. Addiction. Underage. A girl who gets pregnant after being raped by a family member simply isn’t going to want to live with the rapist and bring up a kid in that toxic environment. Getting an abortion does, unfortunately, solve more problems for a girl in that position than going through with it.

Trump is stupid.

He takes this position to 1) criticize DeSantis and 2) to pander to women

1) Criticizing DeSantis on abortion limits hurts Trump with the base. Trump keeps veering left.

2) Trump mistakenly thinks this pro-murder position will help him with women. It will not.

If Trump wants to appeal to women, stop discussing abortion (it is a state issue) and start discussing trans athletes in women’s sports.

That is protection of women and will appeal to more than by saying he would support murdering your sexual irresponsibility.
