Social Security COLA to drop significantly in 2024, senior group predicts

(NEXSTAR) – Social Security recipients shouldn’t expect 2024’s cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to be as significant as 2023’s, despite warnings that beneficiaries are losing their purchasing power.

“The 2024 COLA could be around 3.1%,” Mary Johnson, the Social Security and Medicare policy analyst for the Senior Citizens League, said in a news release issued last week.

COLA never amounted to much to begin with, and it never matched the actual rate of inflation. And when they raise the cost of Medicare, it usually wipes out the COLA anyway.

Illegals need resources too. How soon will the “Progressives “ call for the seizure of assets of the useless eaters or threats to democracy (you know, mob rule)?

But it’s a “trust fund”, doncha know. It’s also compulsory. But don’t you dare try to fix it or phase it out. No private business would get away with following the Social Security “business model”.

It’s all manipulated ever since Bill Clinton changed the formula for computing COLA back in the early 1990’s.

The country is overloaded with illegals and they will eat up every last dime.

A good solution would be to charge a toll at the border. $50,000 per illegal trying to cross. Good for a year "stay" in the country until kicked out. Any that don't leave, or can't pay the toll (as in those who sneak in) will be placed in indentured servitude for a period of 5 years. They don't like it, they don't have to break into our country. The ones committed to indentured servitude can build and repair a border wall, serve the homeless and clean homeless camps, etc. Any costs for the program paid by toll fees.

I know what really happens, the liberals don't want to fix problems, they want to create problems.

“My home owners insurance as tripled in past three years, my property taxes has almost doubled, car insurance has doubled.”

That’s unfortunate. Mine in WA State have been mostly stable, but property tax gapped up around 2018-19. Now comparable to a lot of other states.

The decrepit old fool needs the money for the “Migrants” he’s bringing in, and for Ukraine.

Old Americans have been written off, and are expected to slink away and die.

At my favorite vintage shop, I found some pamphlets about “The New Social Secirity Program”. I should buy, scan, and upload them.

COLA = Cost Of Living Adjustment, so they are saying that inflation is only going to be 3.1% in 2024? Brandon will still be resident in 2024(so far) right? So how can anyone in their right mind believe that inflation and associated cost of living will be only 3.1% higher?

I guess the democrats believe that all seniors are as mentally defective as Brand and will be just fine being screwed over while illegals are given more benefits than their children and grandchildren while generations of Americans to come are saddled with backbreaking debt.
