Toronto’s supposedly ‘anti-capitalist’ cafe, The Anarchist, has announced that it would be permanently shutting down after just over a year in business.

In a “nobody saw that coming” moment, a Toronto cafe that describes itself as an “anti-capitalist, anti-colonial cafe, shop and radical community space on stolen land,” announced that it would be shutting down permanently by the end of the month.

Only a super rich country could enable vain, dead-end experiments like these. And then only briefly.

You can’t make this up.

Kinda reminds me of the late Karl Walled. Anyone remember him?

The Commie owner was only right about one thing..the ruling aristocratic rich families are the single biggest corrupter and danger to all individually freedom loving societies. While the first generation of wealthy people earned their money and have shown tenacity and capabilities to provide for the economy of people and ideas, their inheritors and following generations do not and so begins their paths to consolidate power and wealth rather than reinvesting it back into society. Capitalism is a great and beautiful thing able to provide goods and services the most efficient way possible, but to preserve it we need to rethink the concepts of charity and inheritance. Think about all our problems today and all those members in WEF or other NGOs that play our government officials like puppet strings...imagine a world where those people had to actually earn their money and appreciate their earnings for what it is rather than attempting to steal everyone else’s wealth.

from the comments.

I would have thought that Fidelito’s business alone would have kept it open.

... the lack of generational wealth/seed capital from ethically bankrupt sources...

Translation: no responsible lender would back our doomed-to-fail business model.

“I guess they ran out of someone else’s money.”

Grants from the City of Toronto, and cash from USAID’s Foreign Anarchy Assistance Program would only go so far, the cheap greedy pigs.

Just like the cafe that told people they could pay the amount they felt it worth for their meal instead of an advertised amount. And, just like the lesbian bakery who spent more time advertising the fact the owners were lesbian rather than the baked goods they produced. Both lasted less than a year.

You cannot operate a business based upon woke slogans and socialist principles. Such a business is designed to fail and will do so each and every time.

Reading between the lines of that statement I think that his parents stopped giving him money.

Also, how does a shop that sells warm beverages go quiet when it gets cold?

“Unfortunately, the lack of generational wealth/seed capital from ethically bankrupt sources left me unable to weather the quiet winter season, or to grow in the ways needed to be sustainable longer-term.”

So he required support from the filthy capitalist system in order to sustain his anarchist dream? These guys don't think of that as hypocrisy, they think it only shows they're smarter than the people they're ripping off. Thieves think like that.

“It’s been an amazing experience, connecting with so many great community members, sparking desperately needed debate, raising the blood pressure of Conservatives (that includes you, “anarcho-capitalists” and “Libertarians”), fulfilling the dream of most service workers by not having to tolerate the presence of professional class-traitors (pigs and military), and experimenting with living and working in ways that don’t enthusiastically embrace the pure misanthropy of Capitalism,” he continued.

In the early 70's, me and two capitalist pals bought a run down bad/hotel for $90,000 and invested another $250,000 in remodel costs and six years later we were offered $ 1.9 million, because the BUSINESS WAS DOING BUSINESS.

I sold out to my partners, { with a 600% profit over investment, plus benefits} was very happy with my ROI, and 43 years later. we are still capitalist pals.

What they did with it after I sold, was their BUSINESS.
