San Francisco CNN — Tanya Tilghman moved to the Bay Area as a teenager to live with her mom. Later, she married, had two sons and made a home in San Francisco’s historically Italian North Beach district, up the hill from the tourist and financial centers.
Even when her marriage broke down, she never thought of leaving. This was her city, her people. Liberal like her, with a mix of income levels and a general sense of community. She didn’t worry about her growing boys going out on the streets where she herself always felt safe.
But those streets have changed, she says. She believes policies from City Hall and even groups who advocate for the homeless have exacerbated some of the problems and the community she once felt a part of has gone, she says. And her son got caught up in a scene you can almost not avoid in the city: the drug scene.
The city’s laissez-faire philosophy had just gone too far, she felt.
“When you could walk into a store and steal under $1,000 worth of merchandise and get away with it – that’s going way too far,” she said. “It’s going too far when you could smoke crack in front of a police officer and the police officer just looks at you and doesn’t even arrest you.”
San Francisco is still beautiful to her – with the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio and Fisherman’s Wharf, the Italian enclave of North Beach. But it has become scarier, and she feels some of the blame has to go to politicians whose job it is to clean up the streets.
“I’m liberal,” Tilghman said. “My politics have stayed the same and things have gone crazy around me.”

Couldn’t resist an article from CNN talking negative about SF. Still refuse to admit the obvious. Closest it got was quoting the mom saying she is liberal multiple times. They indirectly admit the problem by stating it as being a liberal city should prevent the problem. LOL
And “I’m a liberal” and “I love my son” bahahahaha. Completely contradictory statements that only a liberal rag could possibly write that a liberal could love their child.
To have any hope of turning around SFO, the situation described by this woman needs to be significantly worse by orders of magnitude, SFO can’t be saved, it has to be destroyed and built back up, if that’s even possible.
The busing of illegals by Abbott in Texas needs to accelerate, he needs to send as many people as possible to liberal sanctuary cities.
Right now, there is pushback but it’s not overwhelming, the slow decline and destruction of liberal states and cities needs to speed up so more and more reasonably sane people are impacted, until there is total destruction of places like SFO, nothing will change, you just have to hope once the destruction happens it can be rebuilt.
So cute when a story like this appears from a media source that is culpable in the crime upon which it reports.

No, it's an inanimate object that did it. Reading her comments helps explain the reason liberals will blame evil guns for gun violence, as if they transport themselves across state line and pull their own triggers in poor neighborhoods.
