Donald Trump on Tuesday night described his conviction for sexual assault as a 'scam' and insisted he was denied a fair trial by a biased Manhattan jury and judge.
The 76-year-old was found guilty of sexually abusing journalist E. Jean Carroll in a New York City department store in the mid 1990s, and defaming her when he said she lied. He was acquitted of rape in the civil trial, but ordered to pay $5 million in damages.
Trump on Tuesday night published a series of three videos on his Truth Social network condemning the verdict and insisting he would appeal.
'The whole thing is a scam,' he said.
'And it's a shame, and it's a disgrace to our country.'

Trump repeated his previous claim that his trial was not fair, because it was held in his hometown of New York City, in the borough of Manhattan where he lived for almost all of his adult life.
Manhattan is a staunchly Democrat borough, and the former president is widely loathed in his hometown.

President Trump is correct. A lot of here on this forum knew he would not get a fair trial in Manhattan. This nothing but pure politics foisted on us by the Democrat party.
He never even called a witness in his defense. His attorneys knew the moment this went to trial how this was going to go. It does goto show you how bad this woman’s case is that a New York jury which is chomping at the bit to get Trump even found her so non believable that the judge literally had to tell them that even a peck in the cheek is considered sexual abuse.
The current President was literally caught showering with his grand daughter.

First conviction in a long list of criminal and civil trials of Trump we will see play out between now and Election Day 2024. The strategy is to destroy his reputation with 1000 cuts and use a series of convictions in kangaroo courts as justification for stopping his campaign.
Likely Trump will soon be indicted in Georgia for election tampering followed by a DOJ indictment for taking secret documents to Mar a Largo which in turn will be followed by the ultimate: indictment by the Special Prosecutor for insurrection and possible treason against the United States associated with the January 6, 2021 events in Washington. Give the case to one of the January 6 judges who gleefully
deny Constitutional due process rights to January 6 defendants and we may be treated to Donald Trump televised being led from the courtroom in handcuffs and confined for months or years without a trial date (shades of Julian Assange).
Somewhere along the way Romney, George Bush, Asa Hutcheson, John Sununu, Bill Barr, Mike Pence, Lisa Murkowski, Mitch McConnell, and other GOP politicians are going to announce it will be unhealthy for the nation if the party’s nominee for President has been convicted, or may be convicted, in a multitude of court cases occurring during the election season. Our democracy is too important to let the critical issues facing the nation be overshadowed by the trials and tribulations of a single candidate. They will ask Trump to stand aside, and failing that the RNC will make a rule that no one under indictment for misdemeanors or felonies can run in the primaries or be the party candidate for the highest office of the land.
The power structure running this country is not going to allow Donald Trump to serve as president again. If he persists in campaigning, they will deprive the people of the opportunity to vote for Trump in order to “save” democracy by any means at their disposal. It has become crystal clear a carefully orchestrated plan is being unfolded before our eyes.
It is also obvious the rule of law, the sanctity of elections, the rights guaranteed by the Constitution, and the will of the people of no concern to those who bathe in the corrupt cesspool that is the nation’s capital.

Trump had bad attorneys. He should have shown up in court. Someone needs to break his fingers do he does not post stuff. He is his own worst enemy.
