A town which once prided itself as being the “most hippie” in Washington has taken drastic action to outlaw drugs, after state-wide decriminalization led to spiking crime and child overdose deaths.
The proudly liberal city of 92,000 has been pushed to its limit, with the fire department responding to 223 overdoses — 2.5 calls per day — between January and April 12, according to Cascadia Daily.
Among the dead are two teenagers and a five year old, who had overdosed on fentanyl in March and was found dead by police with foam coming from her mouth. Overdoses have become so commonplace, one victim was dead for hours before anyone even noticed, accor

Where do you live in Washington state that votes Republican? Where I live in Shoreline, north of Seattle, everyone seems to be leftard.
Spokane was nothing like that when I was going to Gonzaga, but that was 50 years ago.
Eastern WA is predominately Republican. Just a couple of counties just barely lean Democrat some elections.

Spokane area still has a lot of great places to visit like the Bowl and Pitcher area on the Spokane River in Riverside State Park. I’ve yet to see any homeless or druggies anywhere in the state park which stretches for miles.
Even along the western part of the downtown riverwalk there aren’t many, at least when I’ve been there. On Easter, in the area of the downtown mall and the Cathedral and the river overlook there was exactly one homeless that I saw over about 30 minutes.

I was there before drug legalizing on a road trip up to Alaska. It was quite a nice little city. I can imagine just like everything the past few years it has fallen to crap thanks to progressives progressing.

Bellingham used to be a really nice town back before 1998, but then so was Seattle.

Not sure where they’re at now, but long ago there was a Crosbyanna Room, which had a number of his items, such as his Oscar. Bing was a great friend of Gonzaga, spent two years studying there.

Not much longer, retiring from the dark side and moving to the sunny side. Knucklehead mayor in our town allowed the transvestite reading to children show happen. They keep changing the voting district lines to force there lefties to control our area, including school councils, not good.
You are talking about white people and I agree with you. Blacks have a higher Native rate of schizophrenia than whites, and their massive marijuana consumption is making this worse. Resulting in more criminality, aggression and assaults on whites and blacks. Most of the current popular rappers are stoned all day long. And they glorify this in their tunes. And the black youth copies them. Copies their rapper idols.
You are right about the permanent brain damage that comes from consuming too much of today's highly potent marijuana. Curiously enough, the NE Asians (Japan, Korea, etc.) are not into this marijuana sedative. Their drug abuse problem is meth and similar synthetic uppers. They want to get amped up, not stoned.
BTW..... Look around the world, and you will see that consumption of “recreational drugs” is increasing everywhere. The entire world wants to get high and drugged up, on whatever is at hand in their particular culture.
Maybe remote Tibet is the only exception.... Lolzzzz. And perhaps some Muslim nations.

But why do any of these substances get used at all??
THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION is the key to the gateway.
There are millions of potheads who never transitioned to hard drugs, and in fact, didn’t become lifelong substance userd.
Your theory sounds logical until you look at reality. The people themselves.
How is a 5year old, old enough to transition from anything, to anything.
You see, your theory needs revamping because it works in the head of the theory holder, but in reality to the person impaìred.
It’s like guns. They are only dangerous in the hands of a human. Gunlaws don’t work.
