Ms. Wolf’s piece is Impressive from many standpoints, but this is worth calling out. She recognizes that the Republic is dead, that what we are living under is something entirely different (I see it as fascist totalitarianism, but others might see other forms of tyranny in it).

She holds out hope that I don’t feel, not without massive bloodshed and unimaginable destruction in order to accomplish such a restoration. But I salute her for it and pray that we can all one day throw off the new chains of tyranny that have bound us.

The Republic is dead. What is regain, if it can be regained, will beva Europeanized Republic, meaning soft fascism.

That is the best case scenario, if the people don’t resist.

5. Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal
6. People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria
7. Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka1

We are rapidly becoming the Democratic People's Republic of North America.
So, whenever you hear our Democrats crying, "Donald Trump is a threat to our Democracy", this is what they mean by it.
