King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, were officially crowned king and queen during a coronation ceremony Saturday at Westminster Abbey, the first coronation there since that of Charles' mother, Queen Elizabeth II, back in 1953.
Massive crowds lined the royals' route to and from the ceremony over the course of several hours.
Charles and Camilla began their procession toward the coronation from Buckingham Palace through Central London in a golden carriage led by eight horses.
About 200 members of the British military were mounted on horses as part of the procession, largely drawn from what's known as the Household Cavalry Regiment. On either side of the route to Westminster Abbey were around 1,000 other soldiers, sailors and Royal Air Force personnel.
They disembarked from their three-ton carriage at the Great West Door of Westminster Abbey, flanked by church officials and followed by a retinue of support staff dressed in red uniforms.

My Brit neighbor said was up at dawn this AM to watch the show-she’s lived here for over 28 years and still loves that royal stuff...
Camilla was around before and after Diana, and if the queen hadn’t been a snob, Charles would have married her-he claims he has loved only her since they met in their 20’s. Camilla is a strong opinionated woman for a Brit-according to my Brit neighbor, and she was smart enough to hide and watch until her chance came-as an alpha female, I admire that. I always thought Diana was a weak sister and a drama queen-eating disorders, histrionics, fake falls, affairs of her own with commoners, etc to get attention-but I don’t think it got her murdered-she was in an alcohol-and- paparazzi related accident-happens to famous people out on the town sometimes...
That said-what is it about Brits and their overdone, ridiculous hats for every occasion? Even their crowns look like they were borrowed from the set of an animated kids fantasy/fairy tale-or the aforementioned margarine commercial...
And Lady Di shows up with Andy Kaufman.
Loved the pageantry.
Queen Camilla walks into a pub and the barman asks “why the long face?” Sorry, the joke is about a horse.
I cannot stomach seeing those two after what they did to the real queen Diana.
Glad I got my Elizabeth II tea towels in 2006 and 2007 when I visited the country.

Ditto. Harry and William probably were throwing up in their mouths when the crown was put on Camilla’s head.
Many of the countries we once fought against are now allies, Japan, Germany, etc.
Like it or not, many if not all of the founders of this country were from the UK, they broke free and paid a huge price in war.
Since then we’ve fought with the British in two world wars and numerous other smaller wars.
The monarchy is not for the USA, but if the British hold it sacred as a part of their history, I don’t care, just look at what the woke insanity is doing to our country by tearing down all the statues, etc...maybe keeping a part of the past the good and bad is something worth thinking about.
“I think Charlotte looks like her great grandmother....”
Very much!
they did nothing to diana.
Who is this guy?
+1
That was definitely worth repeating worth repeating worth repeating.
Kate remembered Diana by wearing her earrings.
"I'd like to be king of all Londinium and wear a shiny hat."
they are entitled to their opinion and so am I.
Yes. They were beautiful.
people liked her and he was jealous. He’s still an ass. She has a crown on her head so she doen’t care.
Charles is so weak. And Camilla preyed on that weakness. Charles married Diana because he was too weak to stand up to the Queen. To adulterers being fawned over. gag
