The last of four former Minneapolis police officers facing state charges in the death of George Floyd has been convicted of aiding and abetting manslaughter.

Tou Thao was convicted for his role in the murder of Floyd, who died on May 25, 2020, when former police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck for more than nine minutes despite his fading cries of “I can’t breathe.”

Floyd’s killing led to worldwide protests, and his last words became a rallying cry in the call for police reform.

Chauvin was convicted of murder and manslaughter in April 2021 and later pleaded guilty in a federal case. He is now serving a state sentence of 22-and-a-half years in prison and a federal sentence of 21 years concurrently.

The guy just stood there, was not involved in the altercation, and obeyed orders from a superior. That’s manslaughter?

This was a political prosecution, not a constitutional, legal one.

There was no way that any of the officers present were going to be exonerated in this deranged age.

Should have never been charged with manslaughter. Overcharged.

...

Tou Thao.

Just as I suspected, the MN leftists in the judiciary are all racists.

There was never a chance in the world this would have been a fair trial

Remember, BLM were Obama’s DOJ-organized-and-sanctioned brownshirts.

Nothing good was going to come from it.

Seems everyone is overlooking the fact that Floyd was high on drugs with super human strength and had a rap sheet for drugs and violence a mile long. The police did what was necessary to stop Floyd.

Sadly none of it mattered. Those cops did not deserve jail.

Ever heard of Mi Lai?
Military has this thing called the UCMJ
there is an article about conduct un-becoming
which can be just about anything
they want to throw at you.
Cops don’t have a UCMJ but they should,
so they don’t allow stupid on
the part of other cops.
You are supposed to watch each others back,
but not cover up for them if they are
out of control.

Nope. That was J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane

Wikipedia.....
Tou Thao
Tou Thao, a Hmong-American,[51] was aged 34 at the time of Floyd’s murder and started as a part-time community service officer in 2008. He graduated from the police academy in 2009. After a two-year layoff, he resumed police work in 2012.[47][52] Six complaints had been filed against Thao, none resulting in disciplinary action. In 2014, a man claimed Thao handcuffed him without cause, threw him to the ground, and punched, kicked, and kneed him; the man’s teeth were broken and he was hospitalized.[47][53] The resulting lawsuit was settled for $25,000.[47] Thao kept bystanders away and has been found guilty of violating Floyd’s civil rights.[54]

J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane
J. Alexander Kueng, a Black[37] American then aged 26, and Thomas Kiernan Lane, a White[37] American then aged 37,[55][56][57] were licensed as law enforcement officers in August 2019.[56][58] They had trained together.[59] Chauvin was the superior officer responsible for the majority of Kueng’s field training.[59] On May 3, 2020, video of an arrest incident in Minneapolis showed Chauvin, Kueng, Lane, and another officer roughly detaining a man on the ground as bystanders pleaded for the officers to show mercy. Kueng and Lane were with Chauvin as the day was part of their field training. The man, whom they detained wrongfully, said he had trouble breathing, and the incident was later said to be similar to the arrest of George Floyd on May 25, 2020.[60][61] Kueng and Lane were in their first week as Minneapolis police officers when Floyd was murdered.[62][55] Lane’s application to join the police department had portions covering his prior criminal history redacted, including convictions for obstructing legal process and damaging property when he was 18.[63] Kueng and Lane helped Chauvin to hold Floyd down; both were found guilty of violating Floyd’s civil rights.[54] In October 2022, Keung pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter and in December 2022, he was sentenced to three and a half years in jail.[64]
