Trump's financial interest in Anheuser-Busch is likely why he was silent during Dylan Mulvaney right-wing freakout: report
Raw Story via MSN ^ | 26 Apr 23 | Sky Palma

As outrage from some conservatives blew up over Bud Light's sponsorship deal with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney, former President Donald Trump was notably silent as calls for a boycott of the company grew.

According to The Independent, Trump's silence on the matter was possibly due to the fact that he holds a significant financial interest in Anheuser-Busch InBev, the company that produces Bud Light.

In his most recent financial disclosure, Trump is shown to own between $1 million and $5 million in Anheuser-Busch InBev stock under an account listed as “DJT Trust — Investment Account #2."

What do suburban women & independent voters think about all this culture war stuff from the “great woke warrior” from Florida?

Since DeSantis took on Disney before his re-election, and he campaigned as a "unapologetic culture warrior", let's look at the numbers.

All women DeSantis 46% - Crist 53%

Women 18-29 - DeSantis 47%, Crist 47%

Women 65+ - DeSantis 54%, Crist 43%

DeSantis did far better than any other GOP candidate (including Trump in 2020) with women despite being a culture warrior.

I guess a good number of women really do care about protecting children.

Can’t rule out that Anheuser-Busch did this with the goal of putting Trump into a difficult situation.

Now that I think that, that makes more sense than AB expecting to increase sales by crapping on their customer base.

If AB really is a big MAGA donor that counts more than some spare-change AB stock in some Trump account.

What is it going to take for Trump supporters to even mildly criticize Trump? The hypocrisy is thick in the Trump camp.

Apparently Bud Lite is the favored beer of the RNC and RINOs.

I was spoiled on my taste in beer, thanks to 4 years in Germany. I mostly stick to Shiner and other similar Texas brews now.

My company hosted an event a couple of weeks ago in Dallas for investors in our firm. Shiner was there, Bud Lite was not. It was too high class of an event for Bud Lite or any other lousy beer.

Who do you support for President, Erik? We know who you don’t support but with what is happening in the country and world today, who do you think would be better at righting the ship and getting us back to where we were before the scamdemic? Do you support Ron DeSantis? I like DeSantis...he is my Governor. Do I think he should run right now? Not really. Who is left that would be a good fit for the country today?

A $1-$5M stake for a multi-billionaire? He lost more pocket change in the beast than that.

One mutual fund holding could include that much AB Inbev stock.

False. He picks his battles on the culture wars. He is VERY outspoken about men in women’s sports. He was one of the first and mocks them mercilessly. He doesn’t care where someone uses the washroom and isn’t going to spend all his capital making sure tyranny can’t go #2. VERY outspoken about the child mutilation but understands he won’t convince a national abortion ban to everyone. You fight every battle the same way you WILL lose the war.

In Bev is the largest producer of beer and other alcoholic products in the world. They own 100s of brands. If you have a 401k you likely own In Bev. The stock is not down now. It never was down much. If Trump has a million dollars of In Bev he would be normal for a person with the amount of money he has.

This fight is not about Trump. People should boycott Bud Light and other brands when they advertise pro-woke agendas rather than their own products. This article is not about Bud Light. Its a hit piece on Trump trying to divide his base by making him weigh in on every issue. Don’t fall for it.

Have you considered the possibility that President Trump has better things to do than pontificate on every stupid advertising campaign for bad beer drinkers?

Seriously? It is news that the MSN can read the mind of Trump (”The Independent, Trump’s silence on the matter was possibly due to the fact that he holds a significant financial interest in Anheuser-Busch InBev” How special. And your source is “The Independent”? It is possible that Trump just likes the taste of Bud Light. It is possible that Trump is a closet queer. It is possible that Trump has had sex with aliens? If folks are going to slander someone with “possibilities”, then try to be more creative than “It is possible he has a financial interest” without having any knowledge of the facts. This is not journalism. This is slander passed off as journalism. I would have more respect if the ‘reporter’ just stated “Trump is a rich, mean twitter person, and I don’t like him”. IF someone just doesn’t like Trump, or if he just likes someone else better, then state it, instead of enabling slander by passing it on to the echo chamber.

I can’t get over how people think we’re going to defeat international communism because of what beer we drink.

But, that’s the level of strategy possessed by current big thinkers of ‘conservatism ‘. We’ll change the beer we consume while watching our NFL draft.

My thoughts also ... I sincerely doubt that PDJT himself directs the buying and selling that goes on at the trust. He pays people to do that and their fiduciary responsibility is to maximize profits and limit losses.

There is no substitute for having sound, moral corporate values. Hiring people to change public perception is lipstick on a pig when the misguided values are still there . . . disingenuous.

… so that’s why you’re supporting Ukraine?

...because Putin wants Ukraine's vast natural gas and oil resources located in its eastern region and within the Azov and Black Seas so that he can corner those markets in Europe and also blackmail the U.S., like he tried to do with Germany.

That's a good enough reason to back Ukraine.
