Fox News picked Lawrence Jones to be the temporary replacement for the time slot that used to feature the highly rated Tucker Carlson, who was unceremoniously ousted a week ago.
Jones, 30, is considered to be the "youngest black solo host of a cable news show in history," according to the Daily Mail. Newsmax had Joe Pinion, now 39, as a host before he left the network to run for Senate to vie for the seat held by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
Jones, a self-described libertarian, is expected to host starting Monday night after Fox News has struggled to keep viewers in Carlson's time slot. Its audience plummeted from an average of 3.2 million viewers with Carlson to 2.6 million tuning in Monday, 1.7 million Tuesday, and just 1.3 million Wednesday.

Tuned in at 8 out of curiosity. LJ had trouble just reading the teleprompter, and I couldn’t take it. Turned it off. Should have known.
I don’t base that assessment on any stereotype.....I have seen his show and he has a decidedly mediocre screen presence and his stories are shallow and formulaic. He’s a black unpolished version of Hannity. Absolutely nothing I’ve seen of him would justify in my mind his placement in the most coveted time slot on Fox news.
I seriously believe in 4 months he’ll draw the smallest audience of any Fox evening slot.

Tyrus? I don't think he is ready to be a host. When he fills in for Gutfeld, he seems unsure of himself and not able to carry the lead role. He is a much better guest and part-time commenter.
Operative adjective is TEMPORARY.
Fox can pick their nose on-air for all I care.
Lawrence Jones is not the worst on Fox. But my God, this is a direct FU to the viewers. Now they will claim his low ratings will be because of racism.
Harris Faulkner would have been better.
I like Jones, but it’s a poison pill for him to go into Tuckers slot, this a bad career move in IMHO.
When she shows up, you Liz Cheney hating, drama loving Fox News stooges will return like the swallows to Capistrano.
BTW, Fwiw, I predicted way back during the J6 clown show that Fox would hire Liz Cheney.
Do not know him, do not care. Not watching.
Jones has had a show on Sat. evenings for a while now; it has always just struck me as weak and not ready for prime time.
Lawrence will never be another Tucker just like no one will ever be another Rush.
At this point I just assume all networks are funded by taxpayers via Omnibus BS bills. Supposed Fox kept on Tucker and Bongino on the payroll for so long just to portray some sort of opposition.

What’s Fox?
It’s just for time being until they announce the new show. Jesse Waters is the one I think will replace Tucker. Then Harris Faulkner takes over for Jesse at 7. And Lawrence Jones goes to the Five. But I won’t be watching. I cut the cord on cable a year ago.
He used to be on the Blaze…he’s pretty solid but not the most polished for this role.
This is a good time for Fox to try some new things
