One U.K. business figure said DeSantis “looked bored” and “stared at his feet” as he met with titans of British industry in an event co-hosted by Lloyd’s of London — the world’s largest insurance marketplace.
“He had been to five different countries in five days and he definitely looked spent, but his message wasn’t presidential,” they told POLITICO. “He was horrendous.”

ok, i get it, it’s polutico, but assuming any of this is actually true, i wonder if ron’s putative downcast demeanor is at least partly due to the fact that he probably already knows his nascent primary run is still-born, and he might even be wondering how to gracefully extricate himself from his self-made mess ...
i also don’t doubt he’s worn out by his whirlwind tour of five countries in five days ... anybody would be ... except of course, Donald Trump, who seems to be nearly indefatigable as well as being able to conserve and marshal his energy by living on a gigantic transatlantic jet plane during his travels and having capable and experience advance teams to plan his itinerary in minute and luxurious detail ...

I am not a Marxist and I hate Politico because they put the worst light on things or on a person to help the left.
I am also not impressed with DeSantis and do not support his attempt to run for POTUS at this time.
He reminds me of the lifeless robotic Pence. He should finish his newly started second term as Governor and do a great job of it to build his creds for 2028.
If he wanted to be POTUS, he should never have run for a second term.
Regardless, surrender is never an option.
What do I expect from conservatives? The ability to reason. The ability to ignore all the disinformation, all the fury and emotion, and be able to think objectively.
That includes not participating in the daily circular firing-squad with suicidal glee.
And we might still get screwed again. With Trump.With DeSantis, With [insert_politicians_name_here]. All we can do is our best. And right now, based on the continual, stupid infighting, our best is lacking.

If you put any US governor and presidential hopeful in a room with foreign bigwigs over a year before the election, some of those bigwigs are going to feel that way about him and think he doesn't amount to much. But the press doesn't always pick up the story or quote the scornful tycoons. If the media does, it's because it suits their agenda.
Yes, Ron's not a worldly guy, and at this stage he isn't likely to dazzle foreign oligarchs, but is that a plus or a minus?
