Decoding Tucker Carlson’s latest message
American Thinker ^ | 04/27/2023 | Rajan Laad

Posted on 04/27/2023 6:43:31 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Tucker Carlson, who caused headlines all over the world owing to his abrupt departure from Fox News, broke his silence yesterday in a video on Twitter.

Tucker began on a philosophical note.

He reflected on how liberating and gratifying it feels when one exits the bubble and insanity of the news world and meets regular people who are kind and well-meaning.

“One of the first things you realize, when you step outside the noise for a few days, is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country. Kind and decent people, people who really care about what’s true, and a bunch of hilarious people also, a lot of those. It’s got to be the majority of the population even now, so that’s heartening.”

Tucker also revealed that a break often lends perspective and an understanding of the bigger picture and the issues that matter.

“The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are, they’re completely irrelevant. They mean nothing. In five years, we won’t even remember that we had them. Trust me, as someone who’s participated.”

Tucker taking aim at the mainstream media and perhaps his former employer said that the issues that really matter are often ignored in favor of the latest ‘emergency’ or ‘scandal’ or frivolities.

“And yet the same time, and this is the amazing thing, the undeniably big topics, the ones that will define our future, get virtually no discussion at all—war, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power, natural resources.”

Tucker lamented the lack of meaningful debates where participants marshal their arguments in a passionate but disciplined and meaningful manner and respond to their opponent’s perspective.

Debate is the bedrock of democracy and a fundamental component of freedom of expression.

Now Tucker can take the gloves off. He is basically the new “ Limbaugh “ with all due respect.

I agree. He's the New Limbaugh, absolutely. There are a few others waiting in the wings, but for now he's the New Limbaugh.

Let a hundred Limbaughs bloom.

Yes. I notice vitriol against those who have a differing opinion here. For instance I came to the conclusion that Putins invasion of Russia was morally wrong. It doesnt matter to me if Biden, the left, or whomever also agrees. But of course my personal judgement makes me a Biden voting, globohomo whatever. Seems many on the Right have just become the mirror of intolerant Left. Sad state of affairs.

I don’t know about that. He does not strike me as having the “happy warrior” humor that Rush had. Tucker is more serious in his approach to the news.

Yes, Rush definitely honed the "happy warrior" thing to a razor-sharp point.

He learned it from Paul Harvey, I believe.

But — to quote Elon Musk — "no one's perfect."

And Rush (by his own admission) couldn't transition to the TV format. He tried, but it didn't work for him. Tucker Carlson has figured that one out. And it's easier to go from TV to radio (or podcast) than it is to go from radio to TV.

Fox has not fired him. He”s still under contract so he’s not free to start a show, etc.

BTW, Though he hasn’t said anything about this in public, Carlson believes that the network is on the verge of being sold by the Murdoch family.

“Carlson has told people he doesn’t know why he was terminated. According to the source, [Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott] refused to tell him how the decision was made; she only said that it was made ‘from above.’ Carlson has told people he believes his controversial show is being taken off the air because the Murdoch children intend to sell Fox News at some point.

“The current mainstream media functions as a propaganda wing of the Democrats and must be thought of as a department within the Democrat party organization.”

I disagree with this assessment. The Democrat Party hasn’t had an original thought in decades. I believe that the democrat Party is the apparatus that the media moguls and their corporate allies use to enact what will benefit them. The moguls whip up rioters, extremists, and even terrorists to force the people to bend to their will.

Rush Limbaugh said the Democrat Party is an element of the Main Stream Media.

Exactly...translation, TV is for morons. Find the outlets that provide value and listen to them.

Just watched a 5-minute segment on NBC about Carlson and Lemon being fired. All but about 30 seconds was about the evil things Carlson has reortedly said to the people he worked with and to women that were in emails and a set of other correspondence that another network (ABC) obtained from an "unnamed source". What was revealing was that after saying these things, the reporter-ette said that ABC had not yet confirmed the validity of either the source or of the records ... but the networks are reporting the unsubtantiated allegations anyway!

As for the 30 seconds on Lemon, the only question that was asked of him by NBC was what are his plans, to which Lemon replied that he was going to lay on the beach with his long-time "partner" by his side.

I sure wish I could have those 5 minutes back!

“War, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power, natural resources. When was the last time you heard a legitimate debate about any of those issues? It’s been a long time. Debates like that are not permitted in American media.”

I'd add in there government power, government ethics, and government programs.

He is basically the new “ Limbaugh “ with all due respect.

Yes, he has stepped up into being, and earning, the most recognized and prominent commentator with a libertarian/conservative leaning.
