The U.S. Navy said Iran seized a Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday amid wider tensions over Tehran’s nuclear program.
The Navy’s Mideast-based 5th Fleet identified the vessel as the Advantage Sweet. Satellite tracking data for the vessel from MarineTraffic.com showed it in the Gulf of Oman just north of Oman’s capital, Muscat, on Thursday afternoon. It had just come from Kuwait and listed its destination as Houston, Texas.

Biden is respected and feared the world over./s
Of course, further down in the article, Trump is blamed since he withdrew from the nuclear deal.
Flag in the Marshall Islands.
Let them deal with it.
So, let me see if I got this right. Our friends in Iran are helping branDUHn wean us off the petro teat? Asking for a buddy. 🤔

An Iranian miscalculation? This was a Chevron chartered tanker destined for Houston, but ultimately owned by Chinese leasing. Given that China is Iran’s biggest taker of crude I rather suspect there will be some hot calls to Tehran from Beijing shortly

Let’s guess that the China balloon that floated over the USA provided info for this location.
Gee wasn’t it just a few years ago when the US was a net exporter of oil and didn’t need to import oil from the Gulf? Now we’re are again dependent on imported oil and the Iranian Navy is making fools of us.
and hurt Iran’s feelings by blowing away Cutsome Salamimommy.
A casus belli. Mustache boy will be pleased.
Me too, Checked MarineTraffic, nothing.
BINGO!
Iran screws with a freighter.
Tensions rise.
Jittery oil market responds knee-jerk like every other time.
Prices rise.
Iran makes money.
No, we were never a net exporter. In October 2019 our domestic production of oil peaked at just under 13 million barrels per day. In 2019, we consumed 19.4 million barrels per day. We got close, and much of the imported oil came from our neighbor, but we were not a net exporter of oil. In total energy consumption, the US produced more energy than it used. In May 2011, the US became a net exporter of refined petroleum products. But that's different than a net exporter of oil.
Currently at $74 a barrel.
I think we need more information.
Brent Crude is showing the same pattern.
Close to $80 in pre-market. Now at $77.
We're a net exporter as of 2022.
No one here suggesting there are weapons on the ship?
Our friends in Iran are helping us to import less oil.
Now today Brandon can say, “I’m not worried about Iran.”
