A federal judge on Wednesday shot down Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s attempt to block a former prosecutor in his office from testifying before the House Judiciary Committee about the criminal case against Donald Trump.
The committee and its chairman, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), had subpoenaed ex-assistant district attorney Mark Pomerantz to give testimony about the DA’s investigation into Trump, 76, that culminated in the former president’s indictment in March.
Bragg filed suit against Jordan and the Judiciary Committee, claiming the subpoena was an overreach by the GOP-led House and an attempt to influence a state criminal proceeding.

“Pomerantz is scheduled to give the deposition Thursday morning — unless Bragg’s office secures a delay from a federal appeals court. Both the DA’s office and Pomerantz appealed the ruling later Wednesday.”
‘No one is above the law’
Except Clintons, Obamas, Bidens, etc...
And Gyorgy Schwartz!
Judge has no authority whatsoever. At least this judge gets it.

This is the kind of thing that happens when law school admissions are based upon skin color and not much else. The Congress has oversight over all of the states and has subpoena power over the entire country. So Bragg has no idea what the hell he is talking about. Some kind of ersatz state prosecutorial sovereignty which is immune from investigation by Congress? No way. It’s in the U.S. Constitution. Absolutely pathetic.
How is it “above the law” if Bragg has to take a “pit stop”in May, June, or July w/ Congress along the way to his destination in December?
C’mon Jim, sit on his face and fart.

“Jim Jordan Scores Big Blow Against Alvin Bragg’s Lawsuit”
“U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil declined Bragg’s request to block Pomerantz’s subpoena Wednesday, noting that he published a book this year entitled “People vs. Donald Trump: An Inside Account.” Pomerantz admitted in the book to resigning from Bragg’s office in February 2022 when he came to believe Trump would not be indicted, telling Bragg he was responsible for a “grave failure of justice.””

Another article on the Bragg failure. It is often the left’s ego that comes back to bite them in the posterior. Pomerantz just had to write the book laying out the scheme that Bragg should take in order to indict Trump. Congress has the right to know if this indictment was pre-planned and if federal tax dollars were spent on the indictment. Of course, Pomerantz will have a large memory failure when questioned, but at least that will be on record.
Sorry Alvin, there is something called the 14th Amendment which empowers Congress to make sure that States are giving individuals equal protection under the law.
Oh, and Alvin, there is a 6th Amendment which entitles a person to be fully informed of what crime they are being charged with that I think you also missed.
Guess Harvard will give a law license to anybody these days.
“Guess Harvard will give a law license to anybody these days.”
Law Schools confer degrees. State bar associations license attorneys to practice in a particular state.
I’d like to see them throw Alvin the Chumpmonk in jail with his homies.
Something good for our side to Bragg about!
.
Bragg gets educated on the law.
Hey! Only Democrats get to say that, in front of cameras! It says so in the Constitution!/s
Good point. Should have said "degree".
