Multiple people were trapped Tuesday after a parking garage collapsed in Lower Manhattan, officials said.
Shocking footage from the scene shows multiple cars on top of the concave roof as a woman get can be heard screaming, “Get out!”
A total of three people were hurt, two minor and one more serious but not critical, according to fire officials, but that number was expected to increase.

Picture makes obvious that all travel lanes are being used to park cars in addition to parking spaces. Building Owner caused collapse.
I thought things like this were engineered for a worst-case scenario, the way I would like a 5th-floor balcony designed, for New Year’s when every inch is filled with college football players and their girlfriends on their shoulders.

Older buildings built to lesser codes, been up longer, more wear and tear, and not reinforced like newer codes/buildings.

The roof looks old judging from the cracks along with the rusted rebar in the broken concrete.
I wonder how they will get all the undamaged cars out of the building?
