Amazing how EFFECTIVE the media is considering that Russia will almost certainly use all means at its disposal to PREVENT Ukraine from joining NATO. Perhaps they should ask Americans if they’re ready to deal with the implications of that happening?

_________________________________________________________

Exactly! The vast majority of Americans have no idea what it will actually cost in terms of lives, money, and global instability. But hey...we’re all just along for the ride.

I already told you that one, Belarus now has NUKES.
Problem you have is that Putin decided to station nukes (Those Putin puppets don't really have nukes.) in Belarus before Finland officially joined NATO. Your bs don't add up BobovichLoser.

I don’t think Eukraine will exist in 5 years. Poland is chomping at the bit too get it’s old territory back. Am sure they’re not alone. Go look at an early 1930’s European map. There was no Eukraine.

“...before Finland OFFICIALLY joined NATO”

LOL - stick to being a lawyer, you’re in the PERFECT CITY for that lifestyle.

Global dynamics is WAY over your head. But given the city you’re in, it’s probably over everyone’s head there.

For what? I have no drugs for you.
Drugs work, and there SO MANY there in Berlin. Go to your Internationally famous red-light district. Have some fun, and then get some drugs.

Agree - there’s no way I can see a stable ending without Ukraine being fully liberated, and then partitioned. Otherwise there will always be a Nazi/Terrorist base of operations.

Global dynamics? OK, explain how smart it is that Putin announced Nuclear weapons are to be stationed in Belarus before Finland officially joins NATO.... thereby giving a good excuse for Finland to go ahead and join NATO. Lololololol!

How many drugs are you on now?...

One reason behind the war is that we told Russia that Ukraine would not be able to join Nato, but then we talked about them joining Nato. I guess he figured he needed to nip it in the bud while he still could.

Did the poll ask the respondents what NATO was?

HA! Good one!

“”When the Soviet Union ended, we promised the Russians no expansion of NATO.””

If so then show us that treaty, and especially the part where Russia decides which countries are allowed to join NATO.

At minimum

I think we should have stayed out of WW1 and let the Europeans trench warfarin themselves into oblivion

Most of our ancestors left that rotting continent for valid reasons yet so many seem to want to emulate or support them

It’s a travesty we’ve spent so much blood saving Europe and rebuilding it

Actually, it was before the collapse of the USSR that NATO made promises. That NATO would not expand into East Germany during the German reunification. That's how Gorbachev remembers it.

M.G.: The topic of “NATO expansion” was not discussed at all, and it wasn't brought up in those years. I say this with full responsibility. Not a singe Eastern European country raised the issue, not even after the Warsaw Pact ceased to exist in 1991. Western leaders didn't bring it up, either. Another issue we brought up was discussed: making sure that NATO's military structures would not advance and that additional armed forces from the alliance would not be deployed on the territory of the then-GDR after German reunification. Baker's statement, mentioned in your question, was made in that context. Kohl and [German Vice Chancellor Hans-Dietrich] Genscher talked about it.
No promises were made before or after the USSR collapsed about NATO not expanding into other countries. All the discussions were specifically about and limited to East Germany.

A majority of Americans would show up at disintegration chambers if told enough times this will save the world from global overheating. Many animal species have more intuition.

“Ukraine is a kleptocracy attached to Russia. Always has been.”

pure BS. You really should educate yourself. Ukraine was a country in the middle ages. Muskovy was not. Do you get your info from putin?

“we promised the Russians no expansion of NATO.”

not true. Germany promised it would not expand eastward.

NATO was/is always going to expand.
