How delightful, the stupid govt god is PERMITTING someone to do something.
To: muffaletaman
Having only recently been youtubing to somewhat catch up on the SpaceX story,
gotta say that their whole operation seems very impressive.
Aside from its many innovations, this Starship thing is simply massive !
From an old space geek’s standpoint, I wish them all the luck they need for the coming launch attempt.
(and thanks to muff for the FAA license update :-)

First thing Monday morning Sierra Club goes judge shopping to stop it on environmental grounds.
There are at least 4 species in the area that are not numerous as some think they should be and are therefore ‘endangered’.

Cape Kennedy is built in the middle of several big 'wildlife' areas. Of course back then they were called 'swamps' and were the perfect places to launch big containers of fuel that were probably going to blow up, at least in the early days.
Probably wouldn't be able to build there today.

Its a Boca Chica launch, I believe. Reread the entire thread. That's what I was talking about. We were talking about the environmentalists trying to shut down the Boca Chica launch area due to the fact that it's in the middle of a couple of 'wildlife areas' and some birds might get scared.
I was talking about the fact that Cape Kennedy is also built in a couple of 'wildlife areas', though they called them 'swamps' back then. And that the Cape probably wouldn't be allowed today due to environmental protests.
