Bill Barr says Democrats are intentionally emboldening Trump's base with indictment to ensure he's the 2024 GOP nominee 'because he is the weakest of the Republican candidates'

Bill Barr said Democrats' goal is to use the judicial system to get involved with the Republican primary and ensure that former President Donald Trump wins because they think they can beat him again in 2024.

Trump's former Attorney General said Sunday morning that the recent indictment against the former president and the many other legal battles are a calculated effort by progressives to embolden the MAGA base.

A grand jury in Manhattan moved late last month to charge Trump in the Stormy Daniels hush money payment case – making him the first-ever president to face indictment. Last week, the former president was arraigned in New York.

I thought a lame duck is when The president has to deal with the opposition party in charge during the remainder of their term, like Trump dealt with after the 2018 midterms with the Dems with the house, blocking everything and denying the wall being paid for and built.

This is some real top shelf stupidity. Barr actually thinks Republicans are that stupid? And Democrats are that smart?

I just watched clips of President Trump entering the UFC arena.....anyone who thinks he is the weakest candidate is as delusional as Mr. Dylan Mulvaney.

Lol Billy Boy Barr must have blown way too hard on the bagpipe - he’s lost some gray matter for sure.

In what world was Jeb Bush a real conservative? You strike me as a bush backer. Who were you behind in the 2016 primaries? Be honest.

Rand Paul, until he failed to gain any momentum and then I backed Trump enthusiastically.

Feel free to peruse my posting history. It's all there.

Can he over come the cheat this time?
Can anyone?

Has anyone ran a nuscum/trump poll?

I don’t think plugs will be the candidate. I expect the left to hit him with the bus before then.

Either Biden or Trump would be a lame duck from day one. It is a consideration for both sides.

I’ve always taken it to mean for whatever reason the incumbent can’t succeed himself.

From Wikipedia (below) - I think it agrees with me!

In politics, a lame duck or outgoing politician is an elected official whose successor has already been elected or will be soon. An outgoing politician is often seen as having less influence with other politicians due to their limited time left in office. Conversely, a lame duck is free to make decisions that exercise the standard powers with little fear of consequence, such as issuing executive orders, pardons, or other controversial edicts. Lame duck politicians result from term limits, planned retirement, or electoral losses, and are especially noticeable where political systems build in a delay between the announcement of results and the taking of office by election winners.

They think moderates will be competitive in PA and MI and WI...not going to happen. The GOPe is going to try and tank Trump in GA and AZ. They are going to use that to try get Kemp on the ticket.

Typical tactic.
