Poll: Donald Trump Expands Dominating Lead over DeSantis to 37 Points ^ | 7 Apr 2023 | NICK GILBERTSON

Former President Donald Trump gained ten points of support among Republicans since his arrest on Tuesday, expanding his lead over Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), according to a hypothetical Republican primary poll.

The Ispos/Reuters poll conducted after Trump’s arrest in Manhattan for a case many conservatives have dubbed “politically motivated” finds that 58 percent of registered Republicans want him as their nominee. DeSantis, who has not announced a candidacy for the race, secures second place with 21 percent of support. No other candidate eclipsed five percent of support.

Another Ispos/Reuters poll taken ahead of the arrest but after the indictment had Trump at 48 percent of support and DeSantis at 19 percent. In other words, Trump has seen a net gain of eight points to his lead over the Florida governor in just a few days’ time.

The race was much closer prior to the indictment. A third poll conducted from March 14-20 had Trump 14 points up on DeSantis, at 44 percent and 30 percent, respectively.

“Many of us backed Trump during those two elections but have moved on because we grew tired of losing.”

You’re the loser, every time you post on a Trump thread. RINO, anti-Trumper that you.

I should fly the pride flag and hire people like Milley Ivanka, Omarosa, and Cohen. That would make me more republican.

Yes, because when MSM offers us “helpful advice”, we should take it.

They only want us to be happier, better, more successful versions of ourselves! /s

Democrats play Donald Trump like a fiddle. Is there a trap they’ve set for him that he hasn’t walked into?

So all the lawfare being used against Trump is actually part of a plan to help him? No, that doesn’t make any sense. There are better ways to help Trump.

I do agree that the political establishment would let a rino-controlled republican win The Presidency though.

I voted for DT twice, but he’s 76 yo - 78 next election. I’m a boomer and can admire his energy but not close my eyes to reality. I don’t know who the Dem nominee but I bet s/he will be decades younger than DT.

I don’t know who the Dem nominee but I bet s/he will be decades younger than DT.

That depends. One reason why the Dems are so desperate to have Trump be the GOP nominee is that they're confident they can beat him with Biden.

They're less confident throwing Biden against a different GOP candidate. And they're also not looking forward to an ugly primary battle against an incumbent president. Many Democrats still believe that Ted Kennedy mortally wounded Carter's '80 re-election campaign before Ronald Reagan delivered the death blow.

Can’t believe the Dems want Biden-Part 2. He almost never appears in person beyond a feeble wave or two on the way to AF1. Anyone see movie “Weekend at Bernie’s”. That’s what we have with Biden now. Can’t imagine the Dems think they can keep the charade going another 4 yrs, especially if Kamala is POTUS-in-Waiting.

Can’t believe the Dems want Biden-Part 2.

They have no back bench. Who else do they have? A bunch of far-left ideologues that'll appeal to their base but lose everywhere else.

They might have a shot with someone like John Hickenlooper or Roy Cooper but the base will never allow it. Whitmer and Newsom have disastrous Covid policies under their belts and California is just a basket case of dysfunction. Imagine the attack ads.

Of course, they'll all beat Trump which is why the Democrats are salivating as Trump's primary polling rockets through the roof.

The Democrats are desperate for Trump to be the nominee? That's why the FBI raided his home last year and we have a special counsel investigating him? That's why Alvin Bragg just brought ridiculous charges against him?

The Democrats and Republican establishment is desperate to PREVENT him from running again.

You're point is ridiculous. You should be ashamed to have made it.

The Democrats and Republican establishment is desperate to PREVENT him from running again.

Nothing the Democrats are doing is to prevent Trump from running.

It's to prevent him from winning the 2024 election by being perceived as toxic by independent and swing voters.

They want him to be the nominee, albeit damaged by scandal, investigations, and controversies.

They're playing you all like a fiddle.

List of U.S. Presidents by age: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/11/20/biden-age-birthday-oldest-us-presidents/10728470002/ ... Biden was the first to turn 80 while in office. Trump’s not far behind.

Biden was the first to turn 80 while in office. Trump’s not far behind.

And it's long past time for these Boomers/Pre-Boomers to retire. They've screwed up enough.

They had their shot. It's absolutely ridiculous that we've got people like Biden, Pelosi, McConnell, and, yes, even Trump who refuse to pass the baton, who think they're still capable of executing leadership as octogenarians.

Just please go away.
