"I grew up during the Motown era and love 99% of the music put out at that time..."
So did I. Although I was into the Stones and other hits from the '60s, my friends couldn't understand by obsession with Motown. I'd say you can't hear the beauty of the melodies, arrangements, and voices? No answers.

This thread would not be complete without recognizing the genius of Berry Gordy who created Motown and his unique formula for picking hits. I believe many of the groups would never have made it as big if it weren't for him. Heck, he even created some of the groups out of his vision for a small group/act that was nothing before he guided them to super stardom.
Who was the secretary in the office he used for a last minute lead vocalist replacement in a small female act he signed? The man had an extraordinary eye and ear for talent. I believe he was even a better producer than Phil Spector.
