People are suspicious. Who is this stranger showing my his bloody belly?
Is he some druggie, or homeless lunatic, or gang banger? Are his homies around the corner waiting to jump me? Is he seriously hurt or is this a ruse? If I help him, will the police suspect me of foul play? If I get involved, can I be sued by anyone?
Post-Christian, multi-cultural America is a nation of strangers. Wary of each other. Lacking common ties or sense of community. We no longer live in It's a Wonderful Life. We're living in Blade Runner.

ALL good points!! I have no idea of what I would do.....I used to KNOW that I would help, but now I’m just not so sure.....sad beyond words.
Remember what happened when Ennis Cosby stopped to help a “stranded driver.”
I am not sure what I would do in that situation but I can say if I was out on the streets of San Sicko at 2:30 AM I would be a bit leary too. But would have called 911 at least.
