Tragic video shows dying Cash App founder Bob Lee was ignored by bystanders as he begged for help after being stabbed in San Francisco early Tuesday.
Before succumbing to his injuries, the 43-year-old chief product officer of MobileCoin walked up to a parked car that had its hazard flashers on to try to get help, according to surveillance footage obtained by the San Francisco Standard.
Footage showed Lee lifted his shirt to show the driver his two stab wounds — but collapsed to the ground as the car drove off.
Lee called 911 at 2:34 a.m. and pleaded for help, yelling to dispatchers that he had been stabbed and needed to go to the hospital.
Police arrived less than six minutes later and found Lee unconscious with two stab wounds to the chest.

“And has there been any explanation on why Bob Lee was walking the streets of San Francisco at 2:30 am? Even in a low crime city that isn’t a good idea. Where was his situational awareness?”
He had just moved to Miamai due the crime in SF. Perhaps he was nostalgic and was seeing the SF streets for the last time.

Or he could have been afraid, afraid that the knife guy was still lurking around.
Or he just could have been in shock over what he saw. Untrained folks in shock often do odd things.
Lots of possibilities here.
Or he could have been afraid of contracting AIDS from exposure the the blood of a random San Fransisco stranger?
Even the cops and paramedics won't touch a bleeding victim without gloves. Perhaps he didn't have gloves at hand?

Wonder if this was a targeted attack and not some random thing.

The last two seasons of The Doris Day Show in the early 1970s were also set in SF. I watched it as a kid. Beautiful opening credits. Beautiful city 50 years ago.
Heck no. He was fairly wealthy. Who would target him?

Speaking for myself my reaction would be conditional.
In Cheyenne if I saw someone stabbed and injured I’d get out and help.
In San Francisco they’d be on their own because I won’t go to San Francisco.

Beautiful city.
I worked there for a few years in the 1980s. The employees spoke more than twenty different languages but everyone was friendly. The main down-side was that guys kept hitting on me (a guy)—very irritating.
Today there are no upsides.
Nothing wrong, in shithole San Francisco.
And 4) Nothing good happens after midnight.
Why would anyone in a large liberal city be out walking at 2:30 am?
In San Francisco? I think we all know why.
I don't know what the draw was other than being able to walk to work - which was still a daily jungle adventure for me at 4:30 am. The vaunted bar and restaurant scene was better twenty miles east in Walnut Creek.

Back in the 1990s and 2000s, I would walk in Manhattan and ride the NYC subway at 3 a.m., and I felt safe.
Credit Guiliani and Bloomberg for that.
Remember what happened when Ennis Cosby stopped to help a “stranded driver.”
I am not sure what I would do in that situation but I can say if I was out on the streets of San Sicko at 2:30 AM I would be a bit leary too. But would have called 911 at least.
And no description despite video... We all know what that means.
