National Public Radio has been labeled as "U.S. state-affiliated media" on Twitter, marking the public radio outlet's account with the same icon placed on outlets like Russia's state-owned news agency TASS or China's New China News Agency, the official state news agency of the People's Republic of China
The label has only been applied to NPR's primary Twitter account and is not currently on accounts like NPR Politics or NPR Health.
Twitter, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, has long labeled state-owned media companies. According to the site, the labels "provide additional context about accounts that are controlled by certain official representatives of governments, state-affiliated media entities and individuals associated with those entities."

A media company doesn’t have to be ‘state owned’ to be labeled as such, and should be labeled state-controlled, which NPR is, and CNN/MSNBC/CBS/NBC/ABC are all in the same category.
VOA is right up there also.
My local NPR broadcasts from our **state** university. It is supported by the **state** university and is part of their audio/visual student arts program.
NPR gets plenty of tax money from our state.

I understand that he had more important things going on but, IIRC, during his first campaign DJT said he’d remove funding for NPR — and PBS, maybe.
This is something our new Congress probably could do in a week’s time. DEFUND NPR.

Lower tuitions than private universities and an emphasis on big time college sports are major reasons why public universities have a strong constituency. Why, in an era of hostility to masculinity, do universities promote macho sports like football and basketball? Because they are often profitable, and even if not, promote public support for the universities.
NPR has been funded by Fed money since its inception and is run by the homo lobby.
I worded it the way I did because I had heard their government funding had been reduced. As far as I was concerned, even one penny was too much for me.
But when you think of it, it is like everything else-they probably openly misled people about reductions in funding. I’ll be their funding increases haven’t gone up as much as they want, not that their funding has been reduced.
It has been a source of anger to me for decades that these people got taxpayer money.
People unlike me help to fund these government channels.
Many fake news outlets are partnered with government. This is definitive fascism.
Add CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, et al to the list.
Some people are easily fooled I guess.
If someone at NPR is triggered by this, they should just stop taking the FED $.
