Donald Trump's legal team is preparing for a New York judge to slap a gag order on the former president on Monday, DailyMail.com can reveal, a day before he is due to be arrested in Manhattan.
The extraordinary move to potentially silence a candidate for president will likely enflame Trump's supporters as he prepares to fly out of his Florida home.
'The Trump legal team now thinks that the Manhattan judge will take the unprecedented step of silencing the presidential frontrunner with an unconstitutional gag order tomorrow,' said a source.
'The Trump legal team is considering adding a First Amendment lawyer to the effort to combat this and will fight it all the way.'
Breaking the gag order could trigger a fine of $1000 and a prison sentence of as much as 30 days, under New York law.

They’re the same ones who truly believe 2020 was stolen and 2022 Republican losses have nothing to do Trump. This isn’t going to work out for him.
He could ignore it, hold to his 1st Amendment rights, then let them DARE jail him for 30 days. Political Theater that would destroy the Democrats. (At least to normal people)
They bend and twist the system to make it fit their politics, then go by strict letter of the law once they have someone in their web.
Trump needs to defy it and declare he is a political prisoner.
And I’m quite serious.
Mandela did 27 years in prison, surely Trump can do 30 days for telling the truth
“On the way to a Banana Republic.”
Oh, brother! Would someone PLEASE define “Banana Republic”? And maybe give a couple examples? I see this term all over the internet, yet nobody defines it.
Today on Dennis Prager’s show, Alan Dershowitz explained that gag orders exist to protect the defendant from mob violence before the trial.
Gag orders do not exist to protect tyrannical judges from criticism.
But of course, the law is irrelevant when its twisted purpose is to get Trump.
Silencing an announced candidate for President might be deemed interference in an election. Not as bad as a meme, but that judge better watch out.
Rather than complain, do a Wiki on Banana Republic.
Oh, brother.
Duck, duck go, or Google if your order is your friend.
“Typically, a banana republic has a society of extremely stratified social classes, usually a large impoverished working class and a ruling class plutocracy, composed of the business, political, and military elites.”

After Obama, many friends I was in combat with thought we were close to OUT. Trump got America back on track. Biden and all the Obama stooges he planted in the AFGE could care less about America. All they want is fatter wallets and little work. Everyone on this site who has served this nation in uniform is 10 X the American of all but a small percentage of federal pukes.
They’re gonna crucify him. They’re gonna ignore statutes of limitations, they’re gonna drum up charges he didn’t do but can’t prove he didn’t do it, and he’s gonna spend the rest of his life in prison. The enemy controls our justice system and every facet within it.
The law is what they say it is nowadays. Don’t like it? They’ll kill you. No one on our side will do anything about it, as usual.
Hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it.
I’m shocked - you are usually so optimistic. /S
Under no circumstances should a judge remove or limit a person’s first amendment rights prior to conviction.
Mandela did 27 years in prison, surely Trump can do 30 days for telling the truth.

Yep,
Orange Mandela here we come.
In order to reform our corrupt law system, it will take people willing to do jail time.
“Typically, a banana republic has a society of extremely stratified social classes, usually a large impoverished working class and a ruling class plutocracy, composed of the business, political, and military elites.”
So, you are using Banana Republic as a political term for a nation that has effectively eliminated its middle class. I’m ok with that.
I was referring to the US military intervention in Central America, particularly Honduras, in the early 1900’s to secure the banana plantations and shipping of the United Fruit Company, et.al, resulting in the nearly total devastation of the north coast, especially the Garifunas. In Central America to this day the term “Banana Republic” is a slur and a symbol of US aggression and imperialism.
Thank you for enlightening me.
I agree with you about the AFGE, I probably could could count on one hand the ones that were productive. A lot of them just showed up, did minimal work and went home while the AD personnel picked up their slack. However, they did complain a lot about being stressed.
I have believed this would happen from the start and since judges have unlimited power to immediately arrest and imprison anyone they don’t like for any reason and call it contempt, Trump is screwed.
I wish they would release every document upon which the prosecution is based, the copies of the checks, correspondence, emails, and notes of telephone calls. Let us see it right away and let the public comment on it.
Over thirty counts appears to me to be thirty checks.
