CHICAGO (WLS) -- At least 21 people have been shot, four fatally, in weekend gun violence across Chicago, police said.
A would-be robber was shot while trying to hold up an O'Reilly Auto Parts store Saturday. Police say a man walked into the store near 91st and Stony Island, showed a gun and demanded cash. The store manager, who police say is a valid FOID card holder, then shot the suspect. The suspect was transported to U of C Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead. Area Two detectives are currently investigating.
Hours earlier, a man was found shot to death in Lawndale. According to Chicago police, officers received a report about shots fired in the 3900-block of West Flournoy Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a man, 32, unconscious on the ground about 1:10 a.m. He suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. No one was in custody.
Another man was fatally shot Friday night near the United Center on the Near West Side. The man, whose age was unknown, was on the sidewalk in the 2100-block of West Randolph Street when someone wearing dark clothing approached him and opened fire about 11 p.m., according to Chicago police.
In nonfatal shootings, a 14-year-old girl was critically injured when shots fired on the street hit her inside her home on Chicago's Far South Side, police said. The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the West Pullman neighborhood.

How much violence was there in constitutional carry areas like Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, the Dakotas, and elsewhere over the weekend? Probably comparatively little or none whatsoever.
The thugs doing all these shootings are the same maggots who want guns confiscated. When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. AND THEY KNOW IT.
Gun violence = violence by blacks
Minot ND here. Other than a Moose wandering into town, quiet weekend.
” Other than a Moose wandering into town, quiet weekend.”
Yep and here in Mescal, AZ the coyote damn near caught the roadrunner yesterday. Missed him by l—l that much.
Heck we had a Tornado come through town on Friday and had no power and a whole lotta mess but not a single mugging, looting, shooting, stabbing or rape the entire weekend.
Huh, I wonder what the difference could be...
A disappointing drop from near 25%, to almost 20%. C’mon Chicago, I’d expect a much better effort on your part!
Aren’t approx 100% of these perps democrats?
Highly recommend having a generator when/if power fails. Ours is in a little shed outside - simply plug-in, crank it up, and leave door ajar so fumes escape. Cost ~$800, including electrician’s install. Well worth it.
“ Huh, I wonder what the difference could be...”
I read that you have special demographics in your area. The entire population is either less than 10 years old or older than 25, so in other words, there are no Teens
Good thing AR’s and bump stocks along with arm support braces are outlawed. Otherwise there would be more shootings and killings. Oh wait. Min..
Awww, it is springtime in Chicago.
I’ve got a nice generator, it’s PTO driven off my tractor and 25kw so it will run the entire house without any effort.
My only problem is I don’t have it hooked up with any kind of transfer or wiring system so I shut off the main going back up the line, then I use a double male plug and I backfeed from my dryer plug.
I’ve been told this method is frowned upon, but it works so unless IOSHA walks in and declares my home a business, they can bite me.
Was he captured?
I don’t know. Never-visit-Chicago remains on my to-do list.
They’re probably maintaining their 20% solve rate on homicides.
