We lived 12 miles away and never knew it happened until an uncle in Chicago heard about the storms sweeping through and called us

She had already been moved and we’d exhausted the other possibld possible placeslaces she might have ended up.
Finally my dad and I eventually went to the local funeral home and saw 5 bodies on the garage floor, one of them covered in an unfinished afghan with her little old ladies shoes. A sight that’s still vivid in my mind 50 years later

Have been hearing tragic stories about the survivors of last week's massive tornado. Many people with spine fractures, spinal cord injuries, impaled by flying debris, crushed and severed limbs, and more. Horrific injuries with extreme life-altering effects.
Catastrophic events like these tend to put most other life events into perspective.
my lord...what a awful story...im so sorry..man
