Trump rally goes silent after he attempts to mock DeSantis

Former President Donald Trump took aim at potential Republican primary foe Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis during a recent campaign event, with much of the criticism garnering little enthusiasm from those in attendance.

During his Saturday campaign event in Waco, Texas, on Saturday, Trump argued that DeSantis had little chance of becoming Florida's governor without the former president's endorsement, with Trump breaking into an impersonation of DeSantis allegedly begging him for his support in the state's 2018 Republican primary.

"So, he came, and he really wanted [my endorsement]. I said, ‘You can’t win, can you? How do you – can [you] win?'" Trump said, recalling the alleged conversation with DeSantis. "‘Sir, if you endorse me, I’ll win. Please, please, sir, endorse me,'" Trump continued as he acted out a crying, begging voice.

The question is why won’t DeSantis endorse Trump.

Independents and many women will NEVER vote for Trump.

Ron DeSantis is a committed patriot.

I wish I believed that but I don't. We all sum things up differently & put emphasis on different things but IMO Ron is playing a game, not fighting for the American people.

Lol and trump isn’t? Trump is a pol just like any other not some selfless messiah. Find me one thing Trump did that wasn’t also calculated to his benefit or intended benefit. And before you ask I’m also including all the short sighted lashouts/grudges that have no long term benefit to him and only soothed his ego. If absolutely nothing changed about FOX (or really any org or person no matter how libtard they are) except they slavishly promoted Trump then he would have no problem with them.

“Trump is way ahead and needs to stop attacking DeSantis”

————————————————-

Romney won the primary by staying quiet while the top favorites eliminated each other. Romney was the last man standing and a terrible candidate.

Currently we have a split in the base, Trump/DeSantis widely covered by media and pundits BUT DeSantis has not made his intentions known. Why? Because attacking him as a governor (not competitor) makes Trump look bad. This is the DeSantis strategy for now. He is playing the coy ‘Romney approach’. Stay off the stage legally while poised on the stairs with 2 ways to go. Very cowardly and sneaky.

To me, this makes DeSantis slimy. He knows the base is split but puts his own ambition first. If he thought he could win fairly, he would announce.

Meanwhile the voter war continues without analyzing the behavior of both men. Trump knows DeSantis is running and playing coy. He is purposely trying to flush him out. Has he been successful at it? No….not yet. He knows the difference between the two is brash/proper. DeSantis is seen as the ‘grownup’ MAGA. If Trump ignored DeSantis, he knows DeSantis will stay popular without criticism. Then once DeSantis announces, Trump will be months behind in defining him. Too many will be satisfied with a ‘grownup’ Trump without questioning who DeSantis really is. In my view, he’s faking MAGA because he wants the support. If he truly cared about MAGA, he would have announced long ago one way or the other. If he really cared, he would wait until 2028.

Why hasn’t Trump dropped the big hammer on DeSantis? My theory, he doesn’t want to ruin him….because he is a good governor. If DeSantis runs, that hammer will be dropped by Trump surrogates. And that hammer won’t be nasty names, it will be conduct in government.

For those that have short memories, primaries ruin careers. Walker, Cruz, Newt etc. especially if running against Trump. Those that prefer DeSantis versus Trump will be crushed once the gloves are on. DeSantis will play nice guy and Trump will shred him…..and the base will be split thus killing MAGA.

Lastly, many keep saying Trump can’t win….it depends on the cheaters. They also say Trump can’t win women etc. Trump grew the Republican party more than any other republican. Will everyone like him? Nope. Do people dislike his personal attacks? Yes. Folks that make their decision based on name calling can never be won over. Period. Trump is Trump. Take the good with the bad and decide what’s more important. Trump delivered more than any other conservative.

You are funny. Trump is a businessman who became President. He is not a politician and that’s why the knives are out for him from all sides.
If you understood anything about him you would understand that he is self consistent. It is not about benefit to him, not about ego but about The Art of War by Sun Tzu. Trump fights the greatest battle of his life for America & Americans.

“Trump delivered more than any other conservative.”

In what way are we better off now than we were in 2016?

An obvious “please clap” moment for Trump. You could have heard a pin drop when he tried his pathetic insults of DeSantis.

He may start getting booed next, because people know when Trump claims that DeSantis was crying and begging for his his endorsement it is clearly just another Trump LIE.

We could be far worse off because Hillary would have been running the country for 4-8 years. You think it is bad now. Why is it that you are unable to see that?

De Santis is a greenhorn and his strings are being pulled by the GOPe.

“In what way are we better off now than 2016”

————————————

Normally I would ignore you and the other trolls here but let’s flush you out….

Assuming you’re serious (Freepers know you aren’t) but I’m doing this for them -

You assert that nothing is better than 2016 (because you have no salient arguments, just nonsense), here’s questions for you:

Are we better off than 2000?
1992?
1960?

Nope nope and nope. Now why is that?

Is it because we have the same Congress?
Is is because we have the same bureaucracy?
Is it because we change presidents every 8 yrs.?

AND

Is is because the only power Presidents really have is EO’s that always get canceled by the next president?

Now, if you answered yes to all of those questions then you are starting to see reality, let’s add one more inconvenient truth - the most important job domestically for a president is to use his bully pulpit to SELL conservative ideas (draw in more voters) and energize the base to FORCE CONGRESS TO BE CONSERVATIVE AS WELL.

Trump did that. Is was the voters that pressured conservative reps to fund the wall, remember they hesitated for months. They wanted Mexico to pay for it.

What other ‘conservatives’ have done that?

I don’t see DeSantis or any other conservative energizing the base to do anything but vote - just like they always have.

Every person who thinks that Ron would make a stronger candidate is a neverTrumper?

DeSantis is a eGOP squish. He all but said that out loud. In his latest press run all I heard was Karl Rove. If any of them want to vote for DeSantis or whoever replaces him as the eGOP fave, go for it. Oh, their comments over the last months/years are what make them neverTrumpers, not this single thread. Delusional? Hardly. Most don't come in here simply to support Ron, they come in here to denigrate Trump and his supporters. They're worse than Bush Bots. I'm here most days so it's not hard for me to spot them. YMMV

I’m glad Hillary didn’t get elected. But if she had she likely would have been thrown out after her first term and a Republican would have been elected in 2020. Now theres a chance that they could be a RINO. But I think voters would be tired of RINOs in 2020 just like they were in 2016 and with an even bigger antiestablishment mood someone good would have a very good chance to come in who in this timeline is unknown due to Trump hogging the spotlight with his antics.
