Jesus was a rebel. He rebelled against the world and overcame it. In times like these, Christian unity can be found in rebellion.
But Christians are, of course, to strive for peace and avoid conflict when they can. Where to draw the line?
Take the case of Cornerstone Church of Caledonia in Michigan, the largest United Methodist congregation in the state.
It has voted to leave the mainline Protestant denomination, according to The Christian Post. The vote wasn’t close, either. The final tally came in at 616-9, with two abstentions.
The UMC website emphasized that the split has not been contentious. I guess it was a peaceful rebellion of sorts.

According to the article, they still give sacraments to the LGBTQ types. Cornerstone is wishy washy, and really made no changes.
Therefore:
Lutheran (EL C S*A) Ping!
* as of August 19, AD 2009, a liberal protestant SECT, not part of the holy, catholic and apostolic CHURCH.
Keep a Good Lent!
The August 19 date refers solely to the adoption of the gaysbian agenda, NOT to the “Full Communion” agreement.
“If Cornerstone is allowing unrepentant sinners to receive Holy Communion, it is not rebelling against the world. It’s surrendering to it. Let me put it plainly: Cornerstone is not conservative.”
Above is from the article. Why did they even bother if they allow them to have the sacraments? I do not get it.
Methodists see Communion as a means of Grace.
Screwtape has been promoting.
Homosexuality is a symptom.
Lack of theology of sanctification and deficient Christology are the diseases.
Actually, the Methodist churches outside the U.S. and Europe were loudest at trying to reform the United Methodists to break away from the hedonism trend.
You have a point. I think the Methodist offshoots do, too. I do not think they would deny communion, but they would deny membership.
Lol. Yea. That was my thought too.
My UMC church in Kentucky is 4X that number
Dis-affiliation is a VERY BIG “thing” in the UMC!
UMC Churches all over Amererica are leaving.
Stay tuned!
If the dis-affiliation is approved by the Conference, the Church will ve able to keep its property.
If the Conference does not approve the dis-affiliation, the Church will probably sue to keep its property and, hopefully, win!
Organized religion is a lot like organized crime.
Read your bible. Talk with God. Worship HIM (NOT her, it, them, we, etc.)
You’ll be a lot better off, in every way, than if you regularly attend an organized religion church.
Don’t be a religious zombie. Your pastor, minister, or priest is no closer to God than you are. Likely a lot farther away than you would think.
Are YOU a pedophile? Your religious leader might just be.
Unchurched Christians are basically members of a single member cult.
everyone, please donate...
“UMC Churches all over Amererica are leaving.”
The minister and liberal board members of the largest Methodist Church in my community would not permit a vote of the congregation. It is evident the congregation voted anyway by the empty pews.
that’s all we can do...leave...which essentially is what I’ve done although I still consider myself a Catholic.
our local Catholic charities director came out last year and stated that all white people are horrible racist....
they'll never see not as much as a can of beans from me....I demand an apology for stereotyping my family , my parents, my brothers and sister, etc....
From reading the article this church is good with the homo agenda except for gay marriage. So why gag on a gnat in this case?
but the fascists are not happy with that acknowledgment....they want their perverse lifestyle blasted from the pulpit....
Within this calendar year a minimum of 50% of United Methodist churches will disassociate from the denomination. This is about the ordination of homosexuals and their marriages. The conflict, however, goes much deeper.
For many decades the administrative authority of the UMC has been secularized, dismissing the authority of scripture and the centrality of the Body of Christ. Membership has long languished in its enslavement by an episcopacy that has disregarded their concerns.
