Can’t figure out why people still live in NYC. They don’t realize that most of the country has very little crime. And women often walk alone. New Yorkers are like the frog in gradually heating water. They can’t see what they are putting up with. They think because its so expensive it is somehow better. It’s not. Its a horrible trash and crime filled city. New Yorkers can never retire without a pension, because they pay too much to live day to day. And can never save. If they have a pension they can move to Florida.
Consider how many Colleges NY has. That’s a lot of students from out of State. After four years, they move back to their home State. Why should these students do anything to help NY?
I’ve heard some people say they love New York, because of cultural activities, such as the world class museums, and Broadway shows. Sports fans have a full menu, with 2 teams in each of the major pro sports.
And just in general, not specific to NYC, some people live where they do, because they were born and raised there. Some with strong family ties can’t imagine moving away.
All of us can ask ourselves, why do you live where you live. Is it due to job, school, family ties, significant other lives there, military service took you somewhere, etc etc.
