When Will Stubborn Trump Loyalists Face Inconvenient Truths?
American Thinker ^ | 03/24/23 | Geoffrey Hunt

Posted on 03/24/2023 9:27:50 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Stubborn Trump supporters, especially the most fervent, seem unwilling to challenge the deedless covenant, ask the hard questions that if answered truthfully would confirm that Donald Trump has been a supreme letdown, and his failures -- including the re-election debacle -- self-inflicted.

Promises made, promises kept? Not when it mattered.

Drain the swamp? Spinning around in an airboat.

Trump never cleaned up the FBI, instead hired the Dem sympathizer Christopher Wray as Director, and except for a few gratuitous tweets about his incompetence, left him in place.

Gina Haspel, CIA chief, kept the job until the last day despite the likelihood she was knee-deep with John Brennan in the active sabotage of Trump’s 2015-2016 campaign and incoming president-elect transition.

Trump appointed, then tolerated clueless insubordinates and leakers like Rex Tillerson, John Kelly, JR McMaster, James Mattis, and Gary Cohn, until the damage was done, and Trump’s agenda crippled.

When will unyielding Trump loyalists answer the following questions?

Why did Trump endlessly rail against billions in federal budget giveaways to Dem darlings like Planned Parenthood, and Marxist countries, but signed the bills anyhow?

Why couldn’t Trump get illegal immigration fixed -- beyond executive orders easily overturned — and get Obamacare reversed when he had a Republican Senate and House? Why did Trump let Paul Ryan ruin his platform? Why did Trump deliberately antagonize John McCain knowing McCain would undercut the final vote on debriding Obamacare? Why did Trump willfully persist with a toxic persona, alienating suburban voters that cost him (and us) the House in 2018 and led to the first impeachment and a MAGA agenda declared morte by the Democrats?

Why did Trump never de-classify all the Obamagate documents, and release all of the Biden laptop evidence?

>>> Could he regain you by eventually, albeit belatedly, acknowledging the obvious (maiming and statistically impossible excess death), and committing to making things right?

I can forgive him... but I can no longer trust him. There is a difference

There is too much evidence now that Trump is in bed with Mr. “Eat Z Bugs”... knowingly or unknowingly... doesn’t matter.
Trump is simply too far invested to reverse course, claiming he was deceived. He knows this, and he is right. Alex Jones was at the forefront of trying to wake him up on the vax issue, and Trump is the one who shut down any further discussion on it... so that boat sailed a long time ago.

Politically, If he admitted error to any degree at this point on the jab, his political career would be over... regardless of my personal willingness to trust him again.

He is simply too far compromised to lead the fight against those behind it.

A rather sophomoric rebuttal. I am a huge Trump supporter but the article makes some excellent points. Trump appointments were catastrophic and l see little evidence he has learned anything with respect to that.

The author seems ignorant of the three branches of government.

If President Trump is elected again, what would be different this term from the previous one, and why?

Why would you want it to be different? Peace in the Middle East, roaring economy, energy independence, lowest black unemployment since slavery and all this while being attacked from all sides.

Trump 2023.

Trump exposed the vast rot in our government. I do not expect him or anyone similar to him to win the Presidency again. But merely by running he brings public attention to the rot. When he fills stadiums all next year and gets 100 million votes, and Gavin Newsom counters with 105 million ballots to take the Presidency, the rot will become impossible to hide.

Politics is the art of the possible.

Trump likes to boast, brag, exaggerate. :Greatest”, “Biggest”, “Beautiful”.

That can work to get elected, and it can work to get a building built, but it doesn’t work when 4 years later people say “You said you were going to do X, Y, and Z”.

My main dislike of Trump is that I don’t like salesmen, at least not those who use hype, exaggeration, big promises; just give me the data.

Don’t promise *ANYTHING* you don’t already know you can do, 100 percent. Or get fired.

That said- best economy ever, made Europe pay their way, re-established our sovereignty over our borders, and many other things.

The other downfall: you are only as good as the worst person you hire. I was really disappointed at a lot of his selections; Everyone knew Sessions was an idiot; I get that loyalty matters to some people, but it seemed like ass-kissing sycophancy was more important than ability to execute.

Still, compared to the competition.....

So True.
While I will *never* speak ill of any First Lady, the shameful treatment compared to the fawning over her predecessor was terrible.

The instant Trump was victorious in 2016, the intelligence community and the Republican and Democrat party organized a vicious and effective campaign to stop him and make him ineffective.

WRONG. The intelligence community was conspiring against Trump BEFORE he was victorious. :)

Members of the Uni-party won’t face any opposition. That is what you are talking about. Members of the Uni-party put no opposition to the Progressives, they support open borders, don’t want a wall, they support the war in the Ukraine, they support the Progressive war on fossil fuel. They don’t really care about the economic war on middle America, they think that they are above it.

Heck, Mitch McConnel’s wife’s family co-owns, China Ocean Shipping, along with the Chinese military. Do you think that Mitch cares that Vhina is trying to supplant the US as the world leader?

Trump entered his presidency knowing full well that Major vote fraud was an issue. He barely tried to fix it, and he turned tail when the going got tough. I was always angry about that at the time. The author makes a lot of good points even though Trump did accomplish a lot of good things he could have accomplished a lot more if he did not hire deep state actors Like Wray, and Barr and a whole lot more.

I can only hope that he is now mad enough and that he has learned some real lessons and that he will be bull dog tough in another term.

Desantis does not even believe in the existence of major vote fraud.

The venom and hatred for Trump and his entire family has never been paralleled.

And sadly, much of the opposition and hatred was from within his own party.
