As a colleague once told me about a friend's divorce, the marriage reached a point where it could not be saved and the couple could no longer live in peace together. They call it "irreconcilable differences" and it was obvious to anyone watching that the couple had reached such a point.
Are we there as a country? I wonder, reading what goes on every day.
Over in Los Angeles, a teen is arrested with two stolen guns after threatening the school but DA George Gascon declines to charge. In New York, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has a terrible case of Trump Derangement Syndrome but 'bodegas" are under siege from street criminals. Who keeps these criminals terrorizing "bodegas"? The name starts with B and ends G, i.e. Bragg. Disney, the same one that made classics like Old Yeller and Swiss Family Robinson now goes woke with Strange World. In school after school, parents learn that their kids are being indoctrinated without their consent.
It's scary for anyone who remembers a different past when we argued with liberals about the minimum wage, not transgenderism. Or they said that abortion should be rare and legal, but not in the late terms of the pregnancy.
It sure looks like two nations with irreconcilable differences, or the early stages of a divorce. Is there any hope to save this union? I found this post by Athena Thorne rather good:
By late last fall, my colleague Mark Tapscott reported that polls showed the relocations are expected to gain momentum: “the trend is going to be accelerating in coming years, and that means the alignments of national politics may well be about to shift big-time.”

Ayn Rand, “Atlas Shrugged” is a prophecy.
I just want Texas to leave, I could care less about the rest.
preach! (though if we opened that door, many others would follow.....not that I want that, as such, but...)
I would vigorously support an “amicable” divorce. I’ll move to North Carolina if necessary.
The locusts will migrate.
And how long would it take for Texas, standing alone,to be absorbed by Mexico?
That’s his problem. Silvio needs to stop doom scrolling and try living in the real world.
Things aren’t as bad as the emotion manipulators, on both sides, want you to believe.
The systemic infiltration is irreversible.
We had a chance to “drain” the patient of infection several years ago but they decided to live with it.
Now without radical surgery, the patient will die.
The patient however is requesting more prayer and protests.
See tagline.
I want a divorce. I no longer want democrats of any flavor to have any say over how I should be governed.
“..I want a divorce. I no longer want democrats of any flavor to have any say over how I should be governed.....”
^THIS^
These godless, anti-American POSs can go pound sand.....
Where do you live, cause things seem pretty bad just about everywhere from what I can tell!
That is, if you’re of a conservative bent.
If you’re more liberal, I’d believe one could think it’s not bad. Things are kinda going my way!
To save the Union, we have to go back to the Constitutional roots of the US. As long as liberals don’t want to do that, there will be no saving the Union in the long-term.
“Is there any hope to save this union?”
No-
Get on with the National Divorce-
I don’t wnat to live with them, and they don’t want to live with me.
Moving to states is just part of it.
But even then, are you OK with Thune and Schumer controlling your life?
But why cede land or whole states to degenerates, criminals and the mentally ill? Your forefathers fought and died for the entire union.
I can't tell if your asking seriously. I suppose a major episode of glaciation could tip the scales in Mexico's favor.
That is happening now and covid accelerated it.
I have met a lot of people from California and Washington state that are good people. They want to get the hell away from all the lawlessness and insanity.
I was *completely* serious.
Really? Do you personally encounter a lot of wokeness and denigration of conservatives as you go about your day? Or is it more in what you read about and watch?
We are already in a Constitutional interregnum with rigged state-wide elections. And look at the fight the Dems are putting up against SCOTUS' rulings on abortion and against gun control at both the Federal and state levels. Those decisions hang on the thin reed of a couple of aging justices.
Since we're already in a Constitutional interregnum, we might as well do what is necessary: the complete suppression of the Dem party and the left and all its major backers. Proscription lists like Sulla: arrests, executions, confiscation of property and lifetime bans on any public employment, corporate board memberships or any position of responsibility.
