Um...that was 2020, when Pence and McConnell couldn't put their egos aside and take the risk of facing public criticism.
Thanks but no
Yeah, I think leaving Florida without DeSantis would certainly
make this nation safe for decades to come. /s
Who writes this drivel?
Only one counterpoint cuts this theory to shreds.
If DeSantis leaves Florida and the Democrats win the
Presidential General Election again, that leaves the US
and Florida without as strong leader as it could have had.
That’s a risk none of us should sign on to.
I agree but how do WE do that ?
“What would Trump do given the current stalemate situation?”
I suspect that he’d stop the arms pipeline, if only because it is SEVERELY WEAKENING the United States and its allies (particularly South Korea and Israel, as we’re cleaning out their armories).
And once the arms flow stops, so does that horrific war.
I recall that it got pretty heated between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz back in the 2016 election. But they seem to be on reasonable terms now.
RE: I suspect that he’d stop the arms pipeline,
Which means that Trump will allow Ukraine to be taken over by Russia.
RE: I recall that it got pretty heated between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz back in the 2016 election.
Yep, Cruz almost refused to endorse him in the RNC Convention.
It all started with Trump accusing Cruz’s father of being part of the conspiracy to assassinate JFK.
I think trump might be the problem. He is a one man show. If he was other than that he would create a shadow government team. Reagan had his california cabinet that moved in and made his office work. Trump is just him. It worked great for 4 years but everything he did was undone in 4 minutes by the scum not only biden but every person in the (not government) dc scum. all office holder and employees of (not government) DC.
“Which means that Trump will allow Ukraine to be taken over by Russia.”
Certainly part of Ukraine (at a minimum), which is the way it ends anyway, but my ‘prediction’ of Trump’s ending is that it assures that the world that there won’t be a nuclear exchange in the process...something that is far from assured today.
I think it started in Chicago when the constitutional scholar blamed Trump for the violence at his rally.
well he always had Carl Icahn ...
I am worried we will even make it to next year.
Put DeSantis a heartbeat away from the presidency?
Not on your life.
Well, it seems that’s not gonna happen
DeSantis just threw in with the Bush/Rove crowd.
Ya got me there.
There is an easy solution to this, if DeSantis wants it.
He simply makes it definitively clear he is not running for POTUS 2024 and endorses President Trump.
Then, it’s up to President Trump to select him as his V.P..
Not sure if President Trump would do this given the disloyalty shown by DeSantis, but I have seen President Trump forgive and forget on multiple occasions the same behavior and maybe even worse.
Just in one week DeSantis has made two politically terrible errors.
First was his response to the Trump indictment (or lack thereof). He could have simply come out against weaponization of LE against Trump and other Republicans. He fumbled the ball. Here’s an example of what happens to Republicans:
Then his U-turn on the war in Ukraine. First it was a territorial dispute, now he says his statements were misconstrued and Putin is a war criminal.
Somehow Trump can U-turn on a position and people don’t care. I don’t know how he does it but somehow he does. From the last week’s polling Ron is not getting away with it. That is something we need to consider.
Is Ron ready to face off against Newsom? Because when the word comes down from Martha’s Vineyard to take Joe off the stage Newsom will be the Dems’ nominee (paraphrasing Rush). And there will be LOTS of people who will vote for Newsom because “he’s so pretty!” and “he supports the right to choose”.
You actually think there will be a fair election in 2024? LMAO That ship has long sailed.
Voting wont fix a thing. It’s a defeatist attitude. That ship sailed.
