I recall that it got pretty heated between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz back in the 2016 election. But they seem to be on reasonable terms now.

Yep, Cruz almost refused to endorse him in the RNC Convention.

It all started with Trump accusing Cruz’s father of being part of the conspiracy to assassinate JFK.
