Russia's president Vladimir Putin, 70, is taking tanks as old as he is out of storage in his desperate bid to crush Ukraine on the battlefield.
A video showing long obsolete Soviet-era T-54B and T-55A tanks - designed to be used in the armies of Soviet tyrant Josef Stalin - on a train carried across Russia, presumably destined for the frontlines of the war, has emerged.
It comes with Putin having already raided museums and storage depots for retired T-62 battle tanks, which halted production 12 years ago.
The geriatric T-54 was originally produced by Stalin after the Second World War in 1946, but Putin seems to be sending to war an updated version from the early 1950s - some 70 years old, the same age as the dictator.
Putin is fond of boasting of the prowess of his military capabilities. However, since his forces crossed the border into Ukraine over a year ago, his armies have been exposed as being outdated both tactically and in terms of equipment.

“The Russians reputedly have huge ammo stock piles for them.”
That may be true, but what’s the expiration dates on those production lots?
“And they are expendable”
Their crews aren’t expendable.
And they would be vastly worse than modern tanks at resisting attack from modern tanks, when the Ukrainians advance.
LOL!!!
When we was in the bocage country,
we was assaulted by them Tigers!
You know what I mean by “assaulted”?
Well, I mean assaulted!
I am so tired of people thinking one side here is right.
None of the sides are right. Biden, Putin and Zelensky need to be tried and executed for trying to ignite a nuclear wwiii. Russian citizens dont want this. Ukranian citizens dont want this, amd American citizens dont want this.
Amd if their successors keep pushing it we will try and execute them as well.

You have to wonder, who benefits form having the world’s two biggest military empty their arsenals in a war where neither will win but both will be badly hurt?
Jan Sobieski also fought against Russians. He was a cavalry officer of the Polish army in various battles of the Russo-Polish war, including this one - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Lyubar
I’m sure the real Jan Sobieski would be appalled at how his namesake is carrying water for Putin.
All the Russians need to do is withdraw, and it’s over.
Simple as that.
That may be true, but what's the expiration dates on those production lots?
Well, T-55 means the tank entered service in 1955 so ammo is probably 1960s vintage.
Ammo stores pretty well.
Shot a lot of 1940s and 50’s vintage com bloc back when it was surplussed to the US cheaper than dirt.
We were using repurposed WWII war stockpiles of 40mm Bofors naval cannon ammo in Afghanistan and Iraq after we burned through our Cold War stockpiles and could not produce sufficient new ammo to keep up with the burn rate.
Perhaps a lesson there? .
Ping!
Any day now, the Ukrainian military will be marching on the Kremlin led by the “Ghost of Kiev,” flying an F-35 that we ceremoniously gave him.
Only one military is emptying its arsenals.
The US has barely touched its own, in any way relevant to the global balance of power.
The biggest issue for the US is 155mm artillery ammunition, which is not relevant to an Air-Naval war in East Asia.
Do you mean imposes the will of the khazarian mafia paid for with American blood?
