the law “is overly draconian ... and pays little attention to fundamental principles of equality.” What the heck does "equality" have to do with it?

“We must recognize that this topic does not lend itself to a facile solution,” wrote Gordon, adding that “by enacting an outright ban on transgender individuals participating in sports teams I believe Wyoming sends a harmful message that these individuals and families do not deserve the same opportunities as others.”
Does this guy know what the heck he is talking about?
The legislation does NOT ban so called “transgender” from participating in sports. This legislation does not ban anyone from participating. This legislation requires that people compete with others of the same biological sex.
This is concerning, if the governor of a state doesn’t even understand the legislation passed by the legislature. His stated opinion on the subject indicates he doesn’t understand what this law is about.

Everyone should focus on getting these young men treatment and let women compete against women, not mentally ill men.

I always considered legislation like this to be little more than political grandstanding and a complete waste of time.
Let’s be brutally honest here … the only reason these laws are even “needed” is because the people directly affected by the presence of these mutants in women’s sports — namely, the female competitors — don’t have the b@lls (pun intended) to fix the problem themselves.
The only legitimate solution here is to get the government out of competitive sports entirely.

"Gov. Mark Gordon did not sign nor veto the bill on Friday, allowing it to become law in July. While the governor said he's supportive of women's sports and understands concerns about female students being denied scholarships because a male competitor had an unfair advantage and took their place, he insisted in a letter that the law 'is overly draconian ... and pays little attention to fundamental principles of equality.'"
Huh?!!! The governor is obviously a spineless RINO squish, if not a covert Democommunist. Who makes these kind of statements?
