Humanity still has a chance, close to the last one, to prevent the worst of climate change ’s future harms, a top United Nations panel of scientists said Monday.
But doing so requires quickly slashing carbon pollution and fossil fuel use by nearly two-thirds by 2035, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said. The United Nations chief said it more bluntly, calling for an end to new fossil fuel exploration and rich countries quitting coal, oil and gas by 2040.
“Humanity is on thin ice — and that ice is melting fast,” United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said. “Our world needs climate action on all fronts — everything, everywhere, all at once.”
Stepping up his pleas for action on fossil fuels, Guterres not only called for “no new coal” but also for eliminating its use in rich countries by 2030 and poor countries by 2040. He urged carbon-free electricity generation in the developed world by 2035, meaning no gas-fired power plants too.

looks like the “Journo-listers” have their marching orders to collude on pushing global warming this week.
People need to realize, the UN IPPC ONLY makes judgements basis reports specifically provided to it by its member governments.
By its design and nature, it can not, nor does not, look at any other data.

Wonder why the IPCC is issuing this now. These alarm bells are generally orchestrated to serve political ends, and have little to do with “emerging research.” Usually they wait for the build-up to the next COP which isn’t until the Fall. Perhaps they are aware that with world economies falling apart and people worrying about having enough food, interest in fanciful disaster scenarios is flagging.
Climate Catastrophists are already doing more economic and social damage than actual climate change (if indeed there is any) can ever do in the next 500 years. But that's a feature, not a bug.
The whole "CO2 global warming" meme is a false crisis, invented out of thin air by the neo-malthusian Club of Rome as a tool to force a drastic die-off of human populations by suppressing Western European culture and technology.
Meanwhile, trust the climate oligarchs an UN hogs to find private profit in public policy.
Solutions need pilot programs before they are implemented widely. Let's start with the doom-sayers -- if they believe what they write, let them "eat their own dog food."
