‘Stand Up or Step Aside’: Republican Presidential Candidate Calls on Governor DeSantis to Take Action Following News of Potential Trump Indictment
DC Enquirer ^ | March 18, 2023 | Sterling Mosley

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, five senior officials told NBC News that law enforcement agencies are conducting “preliminary security assessments” for the Manhattan Criminal Court in case Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) brings charges.

In response to this news, President Trump responded, saying that he will be “arrested” on Tuesday:

“Our nation is now third world and dying. The American dream is dead! The radical left anarchists have stolen our presidential election, and with it, the heart of our country. American patriots are being arrested and held in captivity like animals, while criminals and leftist thugs are allowed to roam the streets, killing and burning with no retribution. Millions are flooding through our open borders, many from prisons and mental institutions. Crime and inflation are destroying our very way of life. Now illegal leaks from a corrupt and highly political Manhattan district attorney’s office, which has allowed new records to be set in violence crime and whose leader is funded by George Soros indicate that, with no crime being able to be proven, and based on an old and fully debunked (by numerous other prosecutors!) fairytale, the far and away leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States of America, will be arrested on Tuesday of next week. Protest, take our nation back!”

In response to the news, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer, businessman and rival GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy came out to call for the Manhattan DA to not indict the 45th president.

‘IT REEKS OF… POLITICAL PROSECUTION’: VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE REACTS TO POTENTIAL INDICTMENT OF FORMER BOSS

He explained that if the district attorney did go forward with an indictment of President Trump, it would be “the beginning of the end of the American experiment.”

With Vivek speaking out clearly about the issue, he called upon Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is widely expected to announce a run for the presidency, to voice his opinion, particularly since President Trump currently resides in the state of Florida.

“[T]he ruling party is now looking to use police power to lock up its biggest political rival,” he wrote in response to a tweet sent by the governor yesterday. “The [GOP] donor class favorites have been deafeningly silent about it. Stand up or step aside. Stop being fake.”

Governor DeSantis is the second most popular potential GOP candidate for president and the most popular governor in America. Given that Trump also resides in his state, the Floridan should immediately issue a statement on a potential indictment.

The American people respect Governor DeSantis’ opinion and want to hear what he has to say on this important issue. As of this report, Governor DeSantis has not made a statement on the matter.

Sorry, Trump is childish in his attacks, and it sucks to say that.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It is childish to say “sorry” when there is no reason to be sorry. Question: Do you have any remorse for having voted for the Delaware Dunce and his mentally challenged VP? Just curious!

As I figured, you are foolish enough to believe that just b/c I prefer Ron, I will vote for the creepy crime boss if Trump is the nominee. Stupid!

So, which moron was your hoped-for choice in 2016, Jebbie or that slut from Arkansas? And now in 2024 your champion is another RINO establishment puppet? Shame on you! You need to stop watching CNN.

I will be doing my best from now until the primaries are over to discourage Trump's nomination as it will end in certain and catastrophic defeat.

Losers need love too I guess.

Are you joking? There’s not a politician worthy of the title who would consider that to be a serious question for a split second! Because it's a negative story. If the de facto leader of your party is getting mud slung at him, why do you want the mud landing on you? DeSantis is free to insert himself into the story if he wishes (this Vivek guy just wants attention) but it can be just as smart to stay out of it so his name isn't associated with the mud.

I don't think you understand how politics work.

That may be true from your perspective, and if you’d care to comment further on that point please do so.

“ Federal law mandates that the U.S.M.S. seek and arrest persons charged with Federal crimes. Accordingly, the U.S.M.S. investigates and executes Federal arrest and escaped fugitive warrants. Additionally, U.S. marshals are authorized to arrest without warrant for any Federal crime committed in their presence as well as to make arrests based on probable cause for any violation of Federal law; however, the primary enforcement responsibility of the U.S. marshal is to execute Federal arrest warrants which emanate from U.S. courts under deadlines imposed by the Speedy Trial Act of 1974. The Federal Task Force on Violent Crime concluded that an increased effort against dangerous fugitives will require additional resources for either or both the FBI and U.S.M.S. The U.S.M.S. is also responsible for the witness protection program established under the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970 to protect witnesses from violence and intimidation and thereby ensure the successful prosecution of those in the hierarchy of organized crime. The Task Force also recommended financial support for the improved training of U.S. Marshals to both expand and improve the services offered by marshals. Lack of adequate resources in the budget for training and personnel is by far the most severe threat to the success of the witness protection and warrant programs. The Task Force also noted that subtle competition among Federal agencies poses a danger to protected witnesses. A cooperative effort among agencies in the sharing of information and the provision of technical assistance is recommended. Thirty-one footnotes are listed.”
