Actually DeSantis could block NY on this. At least for a time.

DeSantis has been extremely quiet in regards to the political prosecution of Trump. He has also said nothing in regard to the Jan 6th defendants, many of whom are Florida residents.

The family of at least one defendant has said they had reached out to the governor’s office and has had no response. Even if there is nothing much DeSantis can do, he should at least express outrage at the obvious political prosecution of people just because they are Trump supporters. The double standards between treatment of democrat supporters and conservatives are glaring!

I agree with Vivek on the one hand. On the other hand, I do think from a legal standpoint, he may wait until the actual indictment happens. If it does, and he still doesn’t say anything, he’s toast.

What has happened about which DeSantis can comment? Trump posts something? Just because an opponent says something, the other is required to react?

Trump is falling into the Dems trap. Calling for protests and getting people on the streets is simply going to feed into the “MAGA extremists” trope.

Why he doesn’t see this is the thing that should draw comments.

But…it’s what old fools do.

And every day he waits until then to say anything, he destroys his creditability more and more.

Anything to protect DeSantis, right Vermont?

Any spin will do, ignore the obvious, but say something to protect what is plain to everyone else.

DeSantis is not displaying leadership in this scenario.

The NY DA has been going after Trump for 2-3 years, what is different today? Has the DA done anything? What is this correct statement DeSantis should make which is based on something that has not occurred?

I understand the need to comment when or if something happens. But, just because Trump is all worked up over the rumors of his impending arrest...that doesn’t mean everyone else has to be involved in his mind games.

When Trump is arrested, I imagine DeSantis will have something to say.

The fact that Trump is using this whole thing as a fundraiser gives me a Tammy and Jim Baker vibe.

That may be. Not a huge fan. But he’s a lawyer, if he says anything, and I am not sure he will, it will be after the indictment.

Trump is the only person saying they’re going to arrest him.

I believe he was responding to an NBC story that insiders supposedly released. I have seen many posts claiming Trump released this story, I don't think that is true.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, five senior officials told NBC News that law enforcement agencies are conducting “preliminary security assessments” for the Manhattan Criminal Court in case Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) brings charges.

That won't be happening.

As uphill and futile a battle as it may be, I will be doing my best from now until the primaries are over to discourage Trump's nomination as it will end in certain and catastrophic defeat.

Just wow. You have a proven fighter with a track records and you won’t support him.

Did Trump call you a name? What was it?

Proven track record? At what? Sending Democrats to Washington?

That's the only "winning" he's been doing lately.

“Actually DeSantis could block NY on this. At least for a time.”

U.S. Supreme Court has ruled Governors have no power to block extradition, period.

Probably a moot issue anyway.

If indicted, Trump’s attorneys will work out a deal that will allow Trump to fly to NY and surrender voluntarily, probably already have. Happens all the time in high profile cases.

In 1861 the Supreme Court ruled that Governors did have such power. Then in 1987 the ever growing in corruption USSC decided that Governors did not have such power.

Proving that the USSC cannot be consistent and accurate in forming decisions. Proving that their rulings are not based on law, but on political leanings.

Which court should be listened to?

People like you just want to piss and moan from the sidelines.

We would have been better off if Hillary had won in your eyes.

Open your eyes, take the wins, get involved in the fight.

Trump is still in the fight, you would have given up a long time ago. I’ll back a winner any day. Babe Ruth batted .342 and few were home runs. Trump make some home runs.
