Battle Lines Drawn: Jim Jordan Makes HUGE Announcement On President Trump as Chip Roy Endorses DeSantis
DC Enquirer ^ | March 16, 2023 | Sterling Mosley

On Thursday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) officially endorsed 45th President Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination just a day after Jordan’s colleague in the House, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), endorsed Governor Ron DeSantisfor the nomination.

Jordan has been a long supporter of President Trump, telling Donald Trump Jr. earlier this month that he’s “100 percent” in with the leading Republican candidate, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.

“Well, two things. The way we ultimately get back, not get back, but the way we ultimately remedy it is to make sure President Trump gets elected president in 2024,” Jordan said at the time, adding, “I’ve been for him since day one.”

“When he announced and before he announced I was encouraging him to announce and run again,” the Ohio Republican stated, concluding, “He’s our guy because he’s proven that he can get things done.”

Jordan’s support of Trump comes after an email was sent by Rep. Roy that endorsed Ron DeSantis for the GOP nomination, being the first notable Republican to do so even before DeSantis announced an official run, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.

“The next President of the United States must be a vibrant and energetic leader with the faith, vision, and courage to chart a new course,” the congressman began. “America needs a leader who will truly defend her and empower the people against the destructive force of unrestrained government and corporate excess, profligate spending, and woke cultural indoctrination.”

“That leader is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis,” Roy declared.

With two leading House Republicans coming out for two separate candidates, the battle lines for the Republican primary are starting to take shape. The upcoming primaries will be incredibly important, not just for the future of the party but for the future of the country.

Jordan needs to get with the program, and get tough with big tech. He won’t, though; they own him.

Good that he’s endorsing PDJT.

Oh please. The GOPe is making it very clear they’ll throw all their political weight and financial assistance behind Ron DeSantis to stop Trump from getting the nomination! Trump senses this and believes DeSantis will most likely be his only serious opponent and he’s getting in the first licks.

All you need to know:

Jeb Bush Endorses Ron DeSantis For President In 2024: "Forward-Leaning, Future-Oriented"

Of course TPTB may be more worried about DeSantis than President Trump so they endorsed him to take him out.

DeSantis has been good for Florida - hammering out a 20% win in a 50%/50% state.

Yup. It doesn’t matter to them if the Republican nominee wins the presidency or not just as long as that nominee is not named Donald J. Trump.

That in itself makes it a done deal vis a vis a Jordan vs Soy (boy?) endorsement. Bump!

Republicans and Conservatives can coalesce around the nominee.

Can and should, but will they, if the nominee is Trump?

I can't see RINOs enthusiastically supporting Trump.

Conservatives always support the RINO candidate, if he/she eventually becomes the nominee. What choice do they have?

RINOs seldom give the same support if the nominee is Conservative.

Problem is, Conservatives probably can't win without help from the RINOs, so what are we supposed to do?

Trump is positioning and pontificating on Desantis and trying keep Desantis out of the race.

Desantis has all the reasons to run but for Trump.

So Trump is just showing Ron how politically risky it would be to run against him.

Does nobody here see a Trump / deSantis 2024 ticket?%

Possibly with an agreement that Trump will resign the Presidency early giving it to deS for 8, 9, or 10 more years.

I don’t see Trump picking a sanctimonious running mate. It’s not a good look, unless you’re a Saint.

You don’t get it.

President Trump is the popular incumbent, just like Reagan was in 1984. The 2020 election was stolen, so Trump’s incumbency rolls forward to 2024.

Any Republican who challenges Trump in 2024 is a fool, which is why Ron DeSantis has still not announced. He understands Trump is running for a well-deserved second term.

DeSantis is doing a fabulous job as ultra popular governor of Florida, and is in a great position for a 2028 Presidential run. In 2028, if DeSantis runs a MAGA campaign, every single Trump voter will gladly vote for him.

If he challenges Trump in 2024, he knows he won’t get the MAGA base, so he will have to look elsewhere - to the RINO wing of the Republican Party - and betray his own conservative base!

Why would he trade away all that just to become road kill in a primary challenge he can’t win?

DeSantis is way too smart for that.

Why is DeSantis running. He just won a 4 year term as Governor of Florida?
