“The total number of Russian deaths in Ukraine is likely to have exceeded all fatalities in 16 of the nation’s military actions since the Second World War, it has been claimed.”

It has also been claimed that this disinfo is total BS.

NYT Reveals Think Tank It’s Cited for Years to Be Corrupt Arms Booster
ADAM JOHNSON

Excerpt:

As the Times also notes, CSIS is funded largely by Western and Gulf monarchy governments, arms dealers and oil companies, such as Raytheon, Boeing, Shell, the United Arab Emirates, US Department of Defense, UK Home Office, General Dynamics, Exxon Mobil, Northrop Grumman, Chevron and others.

Anyone with a seven-year-old’s understanding of causality can conclude that CSIS would, in the aggregate, promote the expansion of the military and surveillance state, since that’s who pays their bills; what the Times did was reveal a specific, rather direct example, using heretofore secret documents.

CSIS: a think tank run by a “neocon” group including Nuland’s husband. Take it with a boulder of salt.

WWII set a pretty high bar for Russian casualties. Doing the math they averaged over 2K dead a day from 1941 to 1945.

As Ukrainian defeats pile up, there will be increasing emphasis on made-up Russian casualty figures from Western politicians, think tanks, and media. It's the only thing they can hang their hat on.

“It is thought Russian troops are dying at five times the rate of Ukrainians, at a total of around 70,000.”

Those are rookie numbers!!!

Utter bullsh#t.

From less than a month ago:

https://meduza.io/en/news/2023/02/13/mediazona-and-bbc-news-russian-publish-further-figures-on-russia-s-losses-in-ukraine

Mediazona and BBC News Russian, together with a group of volunteers, have confirmed the deaths of 14,093 Russian servicemen killed in the Ukraine war before February 12. They arrived at this total using only public records and other open sources.

Five times the rate of Ukrainians seems excessive to me.

Probably more Russian Federation troops and more Ukrainian civilians, but otherwise about par seems far more likely.
