From what I’ve seen, most jews are progressives first and Jews second.
They bought into the lies and are finding out that the liars lied and used them only to throw them to the curb.
For whatever reason, there seems to be a lot of self-hatred in the Jewish community. Many Jews oppose Israel. Many Jews push for a secular society based on socialism which demands equal outcomes and therefore MUST punish high-achieving individuals.
I have little sympathy for Marxist-loving Jews who are purged from the liberal society they pioneered, funded, schemed for, and sued for.
They called forth a golem that turned on them.

In a country that was 98% Protestant at the founding, and for about the next 100 years, there is exactly ONE White Protestant in a significant role: Burns at CIA.

I don’t know who the “Liberal Jewish establishment” is, but I doubt they are “terrified.” Most liberal Jews it seems to me have little identification with their Jewishness. They don’t care about Israel, they don’t keep kosher, they don’t encourage their children to keep the faith. So when the Ivies revert to their traditional Jew-hatred, why should they care? Just identify as secular agnostics and get on with life.

I see it differently. Jews represent about 2% of the US population and about 6% of Congress. In other words, Jews are massively over-represented.
They may not be as over represented as they were before, when they were really really really over represented, but its still three times their proportion of the population.
In addition, there are 3 Jewish Governors of the 50 states, or 6%. So once again, Jews are over represented here to the tune of three times their share of the population.
I don’t have a problem with that. These people were elected by the people after all, but.....what is there to complain about from a Jewish perspective?

With respect, I think the "self-hatred" is indeed evident, but in a larger segment of population than Jews -- excepting the Orthodox generally.
Consider that sort of self-hatred which causes nominal Christians to so dilute Christian scripture as to be unable to address Romans 1. Consider that sort of self-hatred among the "trans" who learn to hate their own bodies absent maiming themselves with drugs and surgery. Consider that sort of self-hatred which bows the neck in corporations and beyond wherein "Maoist struggle sessions" become far too prevalent, and dissent is silenced.
The war on individualism, as on commonsense and especially accomplishment, is brought home to us in our cities and states courtesy of the worldwide Left, "woke" and at the same time deeply cynical.
I agree and have seen first-hand the "self-hatred in the Jewish community," though I will amend to say it is for the most part the "liberal" Jewish community, as it is the liberal churches and academia, wherein self-hatred is nurtured. "White rage" as General Milley testified to Congress shows that sort of self-hate as well. So much self-hate. The devil is having her due.
According to Pew research regarding U.S. Jewish political affiliation: "68% of Jews by religion and 77% of Jews of no religion identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party; 26% of U.S. Jews overall identify with the Republican Party."
U.S. Jews, both religious and non-religious - are predominately liberal/progressives.
It should be noted that use of the term "religious" does not mean Orthodox; only that a person adheres to some form of Judaism. The same Pew research tells us that - "57% of Orthodox Jews describe themselves as Republicans or say they lean toward the Republican Party, while 36% are Democrats or lean Democratic."
Self hate is typical among wealthy and spoiled children—and we live in the age of neoteny.
The best known cure is hard labor.
