They hurt so bad. I don’t even know what set them off. I was just playing in my sandbox that my grandfather had made for me with an old rowboat of his. Under a tree. Guess they had a nest somewhere in that tree.

I was deadly afraid of them..well, till now. LOL! I’m very glad I wasn’t allergic. The only thing I seem to be allergic to is dirt in the air and pollen. Ugh.

It doesn’t take much of anything to set them off. There’s a good chance you WERE close to their nest. It’s a constant thing to keep eyes peeled for nests around the farm because they build them everywhere. That reminds me, I need to go to Co-Op to get some more spray. There’s only one partial can left from what Hubby bought last year.

Mom would make a paste with baking soda to put on our stings when my brother and I were growing up. It draws the venom out. I still do it on the rare occasions I get stung.

Yes, we have rain for the next three days at least. The “cold” front has stalled on top of us and rain will run along it until the next front comes through and shoves it on. It wasn’t heavy today but sprinkled on and off all day.
We’ll warm up a little Sunday and next week is going to be a roller coaster ride. Never frigid - or 80 degrees - but temps will be up and down.

Sleep well. It’s time to stop spring cleaning and get myself ready for bed as well. Catch ya tomorrow.

When I was 11 or 12 I stepped on a yellow jacket nest...they flew up my pant legs and one of them stung me right on the package.

Swelled up and I was the proudest young snapper for a week or so...
