It didn't help that Malcom X left Elijah Muhammad's Black Muslim movement and threatened to expose him for getting it on with underage Muslim girls.

Note: it's wrong if they're Muslim. If they're not Muslim it's good to rape them, according to the original Muhammad. (They must be non-Muslim, not married to a Muslim, and old enough to have had their first period. Then it's okay to rape them.)

If the book and film are to be believed, his visit to Mecca where he encountered whites and other races, led him away from Elijah Mohammed's black supremacist views. That wasn't exactly welcome.
