James O’Keefe’s departure from Project Veritas, the right-wing organization known for conducting undercover sting operations, came after the board of directors claimed to staff that O’Keefe had endangered the group’s nonprofit status, according to documents and people familiar with the situation.
In a memo sent to employees last week, the board warned, “THERE IS NO PROJECT VERITAS WITHOUT THE IRS,” referring to the Internal Revenue Service, which regulates nonprofits.
Project Veritas is registered under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, meaning it cannot engage in politics or operate for the benefit of private interests. In exchange, the group is exempt from paying federal income taxes and disclosing its donors, allowing it to build a reservoir of financial support as it seeks to expose alleged wrongdoing by journalists, liberals, labor unions and others. Project Veritas reported raising about $21 million in 2021, the most recent year for which a public filing is available.

Washington Post = America’s People’s Daily.
Project Veritas might be in the right. He might’ve overstepped and allowed power to corrupt. I am not sure Project Veritas will survive without him. Judicial Watch survived but I think that’s an outlier.
“THERE IS NO PROJECT VERITAS WITHOUT THE IRS,”
There no longer is a Project Veritas- Period. What ever remains for a short time will be tainted by the left.
Without O’Keefe, Project Veritas is no longer a “right-wing” group....
From your thread directly above this one....
“In a statement released later Monday, the group’s board of directors said it had uncovered “financial malfeasance” and accused O’Keefe of spending “an excessive amount of donor funds in the last three years on personal luxuries.”
According to the group, those included “$14,000 on a charter flight to meet someone to fix his boat under the guise of meeting with a donor”; $60,000 in losses from dance events; more than $150,000 “in Black Cars in the last 18 months”; and others.”

First I’ve heard of this.
Bob Jones lost their tax-exempt status. Better to lose the status and some donations than to compromise the mission or lose O’Keefe. Project Veritas is MUCH less political than 501c3s like the SPLC and ACLU. Any removal of status can be challenged.
I guess the stolen sandwich and the $12.6K “wedding venue” and going in person instead of Zoom, and rentals instead of Uber wasn’t strong enough tea.
O’Keefe must live REALLY clean, because they haven’t even tried to go all Brett Kavanaugh on him yet.
Oh, B.S.! O’Keefe went against Pfizer, and the Board got members received the warnings and acted to save the narrative that their masters dictated. Years from now we will finally find out how much money changed hands for their betrayal.
The Radical Marxist Media is pouncing
From here on, every story will be HOW DOES THE IRS FEEL ABOUT IT????/
“ Project Veritas might be in the right. He might’ve overstepped and allowed power to corrupt…”

And there might be SPACE ALIEN LIZARD PEOPLE inhabiting the White House. Feel free to continue believing the mainstream media if you so choose.
Left wing 501c3s do whatever the hell they want
Bullshit. Look at the list of 503c organizations that are explicitly democrat. And he was not partisan. He just exposed lies and coverups. Anyway, he needs to dump the 503c idea. Just pay the taxes and do what you please.
Blm is one.
PV’s Board hosted a 6 1/2 hour show trial against O’Keefe where he could defend himself until the very end for a short period.
It was recorded.
O’Keefe challenged them to release the video footage. They won’t.
“BLM, like all organizations claiming to be charities and therefore tax-exempt, is required to release their 990 forms to the public when requested.
“Tax-exempt organizations, nonexempt charitable trusts, and section 527 political organizations file Form 990 to provide the IRS with the information required by section 6033,” the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) says on its website.
Cullors also says that the law which requires charities to disclose finances and activities actually endangers activists and also claims in some instances the information is being “weaponized” against them.
This is, like, deeply unsafe. This is literally being weaponized against us, against the people we work with,” Cullors claims. “People’s morale in an organization is so important,” she said. “But if their organization and the people in it are being attacked and scrutinized at everything they do, that leads to deep burnout. That leads to deep, like, resistance and trauma.
The BLM co-founder’s comments come just days after New York Magazine reported BLM “secretly bought” the $6 million home in 2020, leading to critics and allies alike questioning where the organization’s funds have gone, the magazine said.”
It's bullshit. If he's been overspending for the past three years, why now all of a sudden is it a big problem? If that is the real issue, why didn't someone do something about it before now? Because it's horseshit, that's why. They can't come out and say Pfizer has put the squeeze on them, so they have to come up with rinky-dink excuses of alleged past behavior. Reminds me of the bimbos who claim 20 years after the fact, that someone sexually assaulted them.
Although it has been many years since I dealt with 501C3 orgs, the board is exaggerating what activities are forbidden.
