STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The crowds began forming before dawn on Monday in anticipation of a speech by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Staten Island.
Major media outlets have been broadcasting live from the scene all morning on Presidents Day outside the Privé catering hall in Annadale.
The governor, who is expected to declare his Republican run for president this spring, will be a special guest at a discussion on protecting law enforcement in New York according to Councilman Joseph Borelli (R-South Shore).
Mayor Eric Adams chastised DeSantis via social media.

If he visited my area, I’d try to go see him. He’s an exciting, new successful Republican governor. That’s worth seeing.
Its good to show the remaining , decent people in New York that there is still hope.

DeSantis hasn’t complained. Calling him names won’t promote your agenda either.
DeSantis would be well advised to not mention Trump, even if he is asked about him. As in FLEE from the topic. DeSantis’ actions and policy statements will do the job.

He’s really grown as a politician. Remember him just barely beating the black queer? Gilliam was a ‘charismatic’ wannabe Obama and DeSantis seemed a bit stiff. The lead-up to the election(2018) had a ‘helplessly hoping’ element. Turns out Gillium was more stiff if you get my ‘drift.’ Heh heh.
