We rode the school bus (rural kids) during the late ‘40’s and early ‘50’s and if the bus driver stopped the bus, got out of his seat and walked down the aisle, someone was in trouble. Nothing physical or bullying but usually for bad language.
In metro Atlanta most of the white kids are in private schools.
Exactly. and the fights almost always were fairly equal in weight and height.
I always told my husband if something like this happened to one of my kids, I’d mortgage the house and spend every penny I had to hire a lawyer and fight these monsters in court.
You can be sure if the races were reversed, this would be national news and local and state politicians would have already spoken out about it. The student would have been expelled if not jailed.
Letting your white child mingle amongst people who have been taught to hate him or her is child abuse.

The headline is misleading. “To strangle” means to kill by squeezing the neck, but the victim didn’t die.

I taught my kids early how to use a pen as a hole puncher. Thankfully they never had to use it.
I guess the judge didn't see the pictures.

We do things differently around here.
I remember our lady bus driver around 1971,Mrs Milanasie.(SP) She was one tough cookie and always pulled the bus over to yell! No switching seats or doing homework allowed. If she was stopped with her red lights blinking and a car passed the bus she would give a dollar to whomever got the plate number.
Maybe 60 days in the County Jail will get the Superintendent’s mind right.

Reminds me of the time my daughter’s purse was stolen at school. Black principal, black perp, white daughter. The principal was going to do NOTHING about it. I made her pull the students off the bus and go back in the classroom and empty their backpacks. Found the purse. The perp was still not punished, but my daughter got her purse back.
